Story
Chumlee is literally the biggest baby ever. He is a young dog that is between 60-65 pounds. He is working hard on impressing us with his leash skills, he forgets every now and then when he is excited though. Chumlee LOVES play time and wants us to remind everyone he is a young boy still and just needs patience while he learns he is a big guy. He can be a little mouthy when he gets excited so refocus training to toys is recommended. Chumlee take treats gently and knows how to sit. He does pretty well with other dogs but due to his size we do recommend a meet and greet. He would do best in a home with no toddlers as he forgets his size and may push them around. We love this big lug and know you will too! Chumlee's adoption fee is $150. This includes: Bordetella Vaccine, DHPP Vaccine, Microchip, Flea Treatment, Dewormer & Spay/Neuter Surgery. As well as age appropriate Heartworm Testing & Rabies Vaccine!

Harlee is a superstar fawn mastiff girl who is super sweet. She weighs in at roughly 135 lbs of laid back, but perky, personality plus! Harlee is a social butterfly who greets men and women with tail wags and pleas for pets.  Likes:  Harlee is a morning girl who will greet you with butt wiggles that will make you laugh.  She loves to snuggle on the couch and watch TV with you but is also up for a walk in the neighborhood to investigate her surroundings. Dislikes: Other than small dogs, Harlee doesn’t seem to dislike much of anything, so far. She is definitely not a fan of small dogs but otherwise doesn’t seem to be phased by much.    Personality:   Harlee is polite – she waits patiently in her crate while dinner is being prepped and walks well on leash.  She’s also a talker – she’ll have a whole conversation with you if you’re having fun.  Did we mention she snores?  Like, REALLY snores? Temperament:  She is SUPER sweet and pretty laid back. She’s curious and engages with her people. Energy level:  Moderate energy - Harlee likes to walk but she also loves to sit under the desk while you work or laze about in the sun on nice days.  Favorite activities:  Chilling in the sun, exploring her surroundings, snoring, walking, getting pets, and more to be found… Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?:   Harlee prefers the company of large or x-large dogs who share their toys.  She appreciates dogs that are calmer in nature - pups who are exuberant or overly excited seem to irritate her or put her on edge.  No cats or small dogs for this girl.  She also prefers to be in a home without small children.  Teenagers would be fine. Not good with:  Small children, cats, and small dogs. Housetrained:  Yes!  That makes life easier, right? Crate trained:  Yes!  She’s also crate trained!  But she doesn’t necessarily need it.  She does great when her people are away – either in or out of the crate. Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)?  We’ve been told that Harlee likes to wander, so a fence is preferred unless she won’t be off leash Walks well on a leash?  Harlee walks SO nicely on a leash.  If you’re looking for a walking buddy, she’s your girl. Challenges:  Harlee wants what Harlee wants and she’s sure that she should have it. Just be patient with her and be firm, and she’ll eventually move on to her next interesting adventure.  She’s a bit possessive of her person, so she needs some work on not hogging the path to that person. Any Medical issues?  Harlee has arthritis and is being treated for a low thyroid and cushings disease.  *Her foster is happy to answer any questions you may have about her care.* Harlee also made a New Year's resolution to shed a few pounds, so she’s on a low-calorie, high quality kibble diet.  :)   What would be the best kind of home?  Harlee Quinn lives up to her namesake....she's a fun, flirty girl who is a delight to foster!! She's in foster care due to a military relocation, through no fault of her own. She has adjusted amazingly well to many changes in her life and truly deserves a stable family to call her own again.  She would love a home with or without another dog sibling (although she prefers calmer dogs) and without small children.  She will make her new family incredibly happy with her sweet, loving demeanor.  Any adopter would be lucky to have her! Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include, but are not limited to: pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. Our rescue policy requires the following: Adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina. We will not adopt a giant breed dog to homes where the dog will have access to highly varnished hardwood steps inside the home. Any inside steps to which the dog(s) have access, must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. We encourage you to remediate potential safety issues while your application is under review, prior to the home visit. Methods or devices using pain or force on the dog to control the dog, or to deter undesirable behavior is prohibited. Applications for giant breed dogs must be submitted by the property owner. Homes with children under 6 years of age will not be approved for adoption. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Pets currently in the applicant's home must have a history of appropriate veterinary care. Veterinary records will be checked. All references must be checked before any visitation of the dog is permitted at the foster home. All family members must be present during the home visit to the applicant's home. Any dog(s) in the applicant's home must have an introductory meeting with the rescue dog being considered, before any adoption can be completed. Homes with intact dogs will not be approved for adoption. Exceptions to this policy can be found on the Adoptable Dog Page. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Fill out an Adoption Application BEN IS LOCATED IN LITITZ, PABen is a 125 lb South African Boerboel.  He is 6 years old, neutered, and ready for a new home!Likes: Ben loves attention and love.  He adores affection and being with his people as much as possible. Oh, and treats.  He likes treats!Dislikes: Ben isn't a fan of other dogs.  He's ok with certain dogs, but is really a monogomous fella who prefers an exclusive relationship with his humans. He's also not a fan of those that jab needles in him and judge him by his weight.  He does need to be sedated when he visits those types of people at the vets office - it helps him relax around them a bit.Personality: Ben is very loving, gentle, and sweet.  He's very calm the majority of the time and is quite the velcro dog.  He's the definition of a 'big baby.'Temperament: He's super smart and eager to please but, true to his breed, does have a stubborn side.Energy Level: Ben is generally very calm.  He can be playful but doesn't need a ton of exercise.  He'd lay in bed all day or romp in the yard and be perfectly happy.Favorite activities: 'Stalking' his person, being outside, rolling in the grass, and receiving attention and affection.Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)? Cats unknown. Kids, yes! Dogs, nope! Ben would like to be the K9 King of his castle. Not good with: Other dogs & vet visits.  Housetrained: Yes!Crate trained? Yes! Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)? Would prefer a physical fence.Walks well on a leash? Yes!Challenges: Ben shows high stress in extreme excitement situations.  Meeting new people can be challenging as he is hand shy - his foster mom is happy to speak to potential adopters about these challenges in detail.Any medical issues? NoWhat would be the best kind of home for Ben? A calm, quiet home without a lot of chaos and drama would be ideal for Ben.  His new family should be willing to work with him and devote time to him.  Large breed experience is a plus, especially since the Beorboel breed can be stubborn and comes with their own set of unique breed traits. He deserves a family that will stick with him.  He is an exquisite boy who has a lot of love to offer as a solo pet and will make someone incredibly happy!Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy:Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs.
