What my friends at OHS say about me:Get your throwing arm ready! I would love to play fetch with you as much as we can.I have been known to shower my favorite people with love.I will follow you around for attention - spending time with my people is the best part of the day! Will my performance of spins, hops, and woofs convince you to pick me? I hope so!Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment. The type of home I'm looking for:I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted.I would love to live in a family that has someone at home most of the time.It could be with you! Story
**Adopt-a-Pet lists Leo’s fee as $0 due to a system limit, but his actual adoption fee is $900 to help cover his care and ensure he’s going to a committed home. Thank you for understanding!** Leo is a 1-year-old Miniature Poodle with a beautiful apricot coat and a loving, playful personality. He was a gift for my younger sister, and we’ve had him since he was a few weeks old. He’s affectionate, smart, and full of energy—great with people and eager to learn. He’s still working on house training, but he responds well to structure and consistency. With our busy schedules, we can’t give Leo the time and attention he truly deserves. We’re looking for a loving home where he’ll be deeply cherished.

The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Story
Megan is an intelligent and energetic dog with a heart full of love! She loves to play, explore, and get cuddles after a busy day. Megan sleeps in a crate at night. She can be a bit shy at first but then warms up. She is a puppy with puppy energy. Megan is learning to play fetch too! She loves to chase the ball—sometimes she’ll bring it back to you, and sometimes she drops it where it is. With her enthusiasm and quick learning, she would do great in a puppy training class to continue building her skills and confidence. She is the type of dog that will need regular grooming.Megan would do wonderfully with a family that has children or with another younger dog or puppy to keep her company. She’s curious about cats, though she hasn’t had direct interactions yet. With her loving nature and eagerness to learn, Megan will make a fantastic addition to the right home.Due to her energy level she really needs a fenced yard to call her own and run in. She is fully vetted, (Spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped) her adoption fee is $380.00If you’re interested in adopting Megan, please go to OFOSA.ORG and at the bottom of the available dogs page, fill out the application and the foster mom will contact you to meet and see if she is the one for you.
