MEET MACK & TUNA... This adorable bonded pair (one Poodle, one chocolate Chihuahua, one male, one female) were left abandoned in a yard when their owners reportedly moved away. Thankfully some Good Samaritans helped them until they could be taken into rescue. Mack & Tuna are a cute little pair and we'd love to keep them together for all they've been through. Sir Lance is seeking a long-term home; he is a senior poodle who has faced an extremely challenging life, but after months of love and rehabilitation, he has demonstrated substantial improvement in trusting again.

Meet Billy! Sweet Billy has had a rough time of it. He was seen wandering alone for some time and was finally trapped and transferred into our care. He was severely matted and underweight and on top of it all we found a bullet in one of his front paws. Billy had surgery to remove the bullet, and was shaved under sedation too. He is feeling much better now. Clearly Billy has not had a great start in life. He is a sweet boy despite all of that but is still learning a lot. He is getting more confident on a leash, which is a new skill for him. He likes other dogs just fine and lives in a foster home with other dogs. Sometimes he needs a little help with the social graces but all of this is fairly easily managed.  Billy loves people and would like to be near them all the time. He can struggle with being left alone and does not enjoy being crated. This needs some work.  His coat is growing back nicely and his pretty curls are coming back. He's such a good boy and he deserves a life full of love after having had such a rough beginning.  Billy is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. Youngtu | 7 years old | Poodle Name: Youngtu Age: 7 years Sex: Spayed female Breed: Poodle Coat: Beige Weight: 3.2 kg Height: 30 cm (shoulder height)   Rescue Story   Youngtu was adopted as a puppy, but due to her adopter’s life circumstances—including the birth of a child and an overseas work assignment—she was unfortunately surrendered and returned to rescue. She has now been living in a foster home for about one month, where she has been adjusting well and enjoying the stability of home life again.   ‍ Human Socialization Youngtu is very affectionate and people-oriented. She approaches both familiar and unfamiliar people happily, rubs against them, and enjoys being touched. She tends to seek a lot of human attention and companionship.   She has not had direct experience with children under 13. Youngtu is comfortable being picked up with an arm under her belly and will often show her belly even to people she has just met—an indication of her friendly and trusting nature.   Dog Socialization Youngtu will approach unfamiliar dogs to greet them but generally does not engage in play. She tends to feel intimidated by dogs larger than herself.   If another dog provokes her, she may react defensively, so careful introductions are important, especially with new or unfamiliar dogs. When a new dog enters a space she was already occupying, she may attempt to assert herself by nipping toward the other dog’s rear or rushing toward them in a confrontational way. Proper management and guidance are recommended in multi-dog settings.   Cats On walks, Youngtu may look at cats with curiosity, but she follows her handler well and redirects easily when guided.   Energy Level Youngtu has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor activities and walks, but settles calmly and rests quietly afterward.   ‍ Walks Youngtu is generally does not pull. She follows her handler well. When encountering other dogs on walks, she may sometimes pass calmly, but at other times may initiate or respond to tension—especially if the other dog growls. While injuries have not occurred, brief scuffles can happen, so continued leash manners training and attentive handling are recommended.   Additional Notes • No food guarding toward people • May growl if another dog approaches while she is eating (separate feeding works well) • Calm and well-mannered in a crate • Currently potty trained for both indoor and outdoor elimination   Youngtu is a loving, human-focused companion who would thrive in a home that can provide guidance, structure, and thoughtful dog introductions. We were sent an email from a shelter asking to help Benji as he was going to be euthanized & this was shocking to us. He was not posted on social media anywhere. He was adopted from the shelter & for how long we don’t know but was returned the shelter said for biting a child the owner said. There was no proof of anything though. People will make up stories so they can return a dog & not have to pay a fee. Do we know if it is true or not, no we do not. But this was going to cost him his precious life. He needed out immediately due to this. We could not let him lose his life & we were the only ones who showed interest in saving him. Benji went straight to our amazing foster in CA & he had kennel cough that we did not know about so he was in the shelter suffering with that. But that did not stop his love of life, his foster family & then their dogs when well. He was nothing but a bundle of love & his foster family fell in love with him. Benji came back to WA state from CA where he can’t wait to find a home to love him. What these sweet souls go through behind closed doors we will never know. The absolute insanity to think this amazing soul ended up in a kill shelters in CA is soul destroying. Benji just wants to be loved. The level of absolute madness here is so deeply sad for many of these beautiful souls out of CA kill shelters. Benji is such a sweet gentle soul his foster mum & dad said & that a home would be so lucky to have this sweet little chap. When we first rescued him, he ate multiple bowls of food as if he is making up for lost time. In his foster home he eats clean. Fruits, vegetables, grains, raw meat & other proteins along with supplements. He also adores a good treat which are homemade. When it’s time to eat he gets very excited & can jump high with enthusiasm over & over again & will let you know he wants his food. He does get excited now & has a big zest for life, love & adventure. This boy will look at you with so much gratitude & admiration. She said he is really such a good & smart boy. Until he is comfortable he will stand on his back legs & do the poodle dance for you to pick him up & carry him. He loves everyone & enjoys being cuddled & given love. He also enjoys snuggling up on the couch & spend his day relaxing. He enjoys sleeping on the bed with you & will sometimes get a little jealous & want to sleep closest to his foster mum but they are working on that. His foster mum still cannot believe someone would abandon him as he is so lovely & can be carried around & enjoys his belly being rubbed & will fall asleep while doing it. Benji’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard. He enjoys going out into the backyard in his foster home & having a wander around & sunning himself as well as playing with his toys out there. Benji is a smart boy, he taught himself to go up & down hardwood stairs & to jump into bed when it’s time to go to sleep. Benji has been great with his baths because he started having them with us in his loving foster homes the moment he was rescued so he is used to them. He has also started getting used to being dried with a hairdryer. He will stand up & hug you while drying him. He has put on a good amount of weight since being in his loving foster home & was so thin when first rescued but we will keep putting more weight on him. Benji rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good journey & will sit in his car seat next to you with his dog friends. He also enjoys looking out the window. Benji walks beautifully on his harness & leash & was taught by his foster mum in CA. He gets excited to go on walks. We are looking for a forever home for Benji where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. He will shine at first until he feels secure so a person or family working from home would be good for him. We are also looking for a crate free home for the little lad only. He was left in a cage in the shelter until we rescued him. Benji is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. Benji has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & fostered with other dogs in his foster home & does well with them & enjoys their company. He absolutely needs another dog in his forever home for him to thrive. Benji is roughly 1 year old & 12.5 lbs, he is male, & possibly a miniture poodle. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his shots, including DHPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. Once these shots expire we do not redo them only rabies as we do not over vaccinate our beloved dogs. Benji has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. We have not had him around small children in the rescue so we do not recommend children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Benji was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Benji’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Benji potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We have spent $835 on just transport alone to bring Benji to WA state. That does not cover his costs in CA nor his medical & history adoption does not even cover his costs. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Benji has been through many traumas in his short time on this earth so when applying this needs to be kept in mind & for his care. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Benji & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Benji who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this spirited little lad. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.
