Uniqua is a 3 yr old poodle mix. I am not sure what she is mixed with. She was a gift from a friend. She is loving and sweet. Great with kids and enjoys attention. She enjoys play time with other dogs but she has never shared her personal space at home with any pets. She likes blankets and cuddles. Uniqua has alopecia on her back so we keep the rest of her hair short. She wears tee shirts or a sun dress when going outside so there's no direct sun on her back. She wears a coat in the winter.

🏠 Currently in a Vancouver foster home Hello, my name is Sio! 🐶🤎 I’m a 3-year-old male Poodle mix, and I was rescued from a breeding facility. Now, I’m ready to find the family who will love me and stay by my side for the rest of my life. I’m a happy, energetic, and playful boy who loves having fun! I enjoy running around and playing inside the house, and I’m just as excited when I get to go outside and stretch my legs. But don’t let my playful side fool you—I also know how to relax. As long as someone I love is nearby, I’m perfectly happy to curl up and rest while enjoying some quiet time together. 🥰 And if you have treats, you might become my new best friend! 😂 I absolutely LOVE treats, and I especially enjoy chewing on bones. Squeaky toys are another one of my favourites, so I’d love a family who will play with me and keep me entertained! You also don’t need to worry too much about leaving me home alone. I don’t show signs of separation anxiety, and I don’t have destructive habits like chewing up furniture or making a mess while I’m alone. I’m actually a pretty good boy when my family needs to step out. 🤎 One of my biggest strengths is that I really, really love people. I’m a very friendly and affectionate boy, and I love being close to the people I care about. Even when I’m resting, I prefer to be beside someone or somewhere nearby where I can see them. So if I become part of your family, you should probably be prepared to have a little furry shadow following you around the house! 🐾 I also get along very well with other dogs! I love playing with my canine friends, and I’m currently living happily with another dog in my foster home. I enjoy meeting new doggy friends and can have a wonderful time playing and socializing with them. There are still a few things I’m learning, though! I’m still working on my leash manners. When I go outside, I get so excited that I sometimes pull forward and want to hurry along. My foster family is helping me practise walking nicely on a leash, and I’m slowly learning that walks are more fun when we take our time together. 🐕💨 My potty training is also almost there! Most of the time, I do very well, but when I get extremely excited or worked up, I may occasionally have an accident. I’m still practising, and with a little patience and consistency from my forever family, I’m sure I can become even better. 😊 There is one important thing I’d like my future family to know about me. Sometimes, I get a little startled if a hand suddenly reaches toward me from somewhere I cannot see. I’m not aggressive at all, but unexpected touches can scare me. If you approach me slowly and make sure I can see you before touching me, I feel much safer and more comfortable. Once I know what’s happening, I’m happy to be close to you. 🤎 I think I could be happy in many different kinds of homes. Whether you’re a family with several people or a single person looking for a loving companion, I can be a wonderful match. What matters most to me is having someone who will include me in their life and let me stay close. I’m also the kind of boy who can become very attached to my favourite person. It’s absolutely shocking & disturbing what these dogs endure but they fight for their lives. Soul destroying to think of what he has been through & yet he still loves human beings even after everything they have done to him. We cannot even begin to imagine what Sun witnessed & heard when he was at the slaughterhouse. How Sun ended up in a slaughterhouse for human consumption & yes you did read that correctly, we will never know? What we do know is, he was pulled out of there by our outstanding Chinese rescuer just in time. Working with one of our truly devoted, dedicated & absolutely outstanding Chinese rescuers she rescued Sun & many others for us. Without this beloved rescuer going in & getting Sun out, his fate was a torturous death. We believe every sweet soul such as Sun & his friends deserves to be loved & cherished & given the chance to have a wonderful life. Now Sun is looking for a special family to cherish him & be patient with him & remember what this beautiful soul has been through & a family that meets all his needs. Sun was rescued by our truly amazing Chinese rescue friends & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Chinese rescue who we are so extremely thankful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough. Sun was bought back to the USA where he is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. Sun brings so much joy & peace. He is a very gentle patient little soul. He just wants you to love him & he will love you back. He adores being hugged & held because the reality is we are the first real people in his life to show him such true love & affection. When he finds people who love him they become his world. He is a very spirited & bouncy mini poodle his foster mum & dad said he is just so lovely & can jump on the couch to cuddle either you. He is smart & can run up & down hardwood stairs. He will also want to cuddle in bed with you. He loves to run & play with his foster siblings & must go to a home with a young dog who will play with him & doesn’t mind him nudging him to play with him. He loves a good outfit & will get ready for you to put one on him. Sun eats a clean diet, meaning raw fruits, raw vegetables, 70 % raw proteins, grains, fats & supplements. He also enjoys collagen sticks & bully sticks. All of his treats are homemade Sun has been taught to walk on harness & leash & has been doing wonderful. He would need continued work walking on his harness & leash. Sun is a rescue & will need patience, time & understanding. Sun adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing him, cleaning his eyes, grooming him, baths, the hairdryer he loves it all. He also does extremely well being touched in general & adores receiving love. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to Sun & we have been excited to change his world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. He now loves his toys in his foster home. Sun has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car & enjoys a good car ride. He is such an amazing, loving little lad. With Sun we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lad only. Please do not apply with the intent to crate this boy. He does not like crates especially after everything he has been through. We are also looking for a forever home for Sun where someone is home during the day or Sun can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. Did we mention this boy loves a good outfit too. Sun is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be very patient with him & understanding. Sun has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & enjoys their company in his loving foster home. He can be found at times snuggled up to his foster siblings. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for Sun’s new forever home if it’s a free standing home. Sun is now roughly 17 lbs & just turned 2 years old & a miniture poodle & what he is mixed with we are not sure? He is microchipped, up to date on his shots including DHLPP, rabies & dewormed. Once these shots expire we will not redo them except rabies as we will not over vaccinate our beloved dogs. When Sun arrived he was very thin & we have been putting weight on this little man. We have spent over $2000 on Sun with bringing him to the US with his travel airfare paying for his medical care, including, shots, neuter microchip etc, than his adoption fee comes close to covering. Sun has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have not had Sun with small children so we do not recommend children, but it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & animals. We were not there when Sun was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Sun’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Sun potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Sun & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit using Zoom followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Sun who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this lovely sweet boy. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. Sun has an adoption fee of $950 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.
