Story
Cilantro was one of the most badly matted dogs we have ever taken into rescue. He was found roaming the streets and was in sorry shape, indeed! Along with the matting of his coat, our vet discovered that he had a major hernia, which was immediately removed. A Doodle mix, he is about 2 years old and weighs 53 pounds. Now he's a happy, happy boy who is super sweet, a real cuddle bug who loves toys and going on walks. In fact, he's a real social butterfly! You can read more about Cilandro's story here: https://www.crossingpathsanimalrescue.org/rescue-stories/mom-knows-best (posted 11/21/25, ME) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **November 21, 2025, 1:23 pm

Story
Meet Eli!  This handsome guy was rescued along with his daughter, Bella, from the working life of dogs that belonged to a breeder.  To this man all the dogs were simply property.  Eli spent 10 years living life in a crate only being handled when he was 'needed'.  You would never know this sweet boy merely existed.  He shows none of the scars you would expect him to have.  Eli is a very sweet and loving southern gentleman who is slowly learning to live life as a pet.  He is adjusting to fresh air and grass.  Both of which were a truly new experience for him.  He began going outside only because he wanted to stay near his foster mom.  Now he happily walks around the yard and joins Bella and his other foster brothers and sisters for a little sunshine.  Eli is a very smart boy and is already housebroken.  He is also doing a great job walking on a leash.  Eli's favorite place is either in the chair curled up or louging on the back of the chair.  He is able to see everything from that perch.  Eli is ready to find his forever home.  He has plenty of years let to enjoy the good things that life has to offer.  He is looking for a quiet home full of patience and understanding.  He needs a family that will be there for him but allow him to adjust and blossom and his own pace.  You won't be sorry if you add this gentleman to your family.  To be considered for his forever family and to request an application. please contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Eli is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)  No small children.  October 13, 2025, 5:11 pm

Story
Beautiful Bella and her dad, Eli, were rescued from lives as working dogs for a breeder who treated them as property. Poor Bella had been bred so many times during her eight years of life that her insides were severely swollen and infected. Critter Cavalry arrived just in time to save her from a painful death.  Bella is now happy and healthy as she slowly adjusts to life as a pet. She is a very smart girl who just wants to be near you. While she is not needy, she is keenly aware of where her foster mom is and likes to see her. Bella has learned to use the doggie door and is now housebroken. This process was easy for her because she follows her foster mom everywhere.  The most challenging hurdle Bella has faced so far has been discovering the freedom of the outdoors, along with the sensation of soft grass beneath her feet, which felt strange at first compared to the concrete she was used to. Learning to sleep with her foster mom was extremely easy for her; she thrives on the closeness and warmth. Bella will be a loyal companion for the right family. She needs a quiet, loving home where she feels safe and is treated with patience and understanding. At eight years old, Bella is not old for a poodle—she has a lot of life left to live and much untapped love waiting to be shared with her new family. (Please note: no small children.) If you are interested in considering Bella as a permanent member of your family and would like to request an application, please contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com. An approved application and adoption fee are required. Bella is currently in Tennessee but can be transported north upon adoption.November 7, 2025, 4:19 pm

Story
Rooster is our surprise puppy born to a very young 10 month old Poodle Bichon girl who was given as a gift to her owner and very soon she was not a wanted dog. She was given as a girl paired with another male from the same breeder.   They were not neutered or spayed as they should have been and the mom, Sassy, the mom, was soon pregnant after her first heat.  Rooster and his brother Goose have been pampered and loved ever since they were born. Rooster is a happy, confident pup who is the leader over his brother.  He is eady for adoption this coming November 22nd and Critter Cavalry Rescue is eager to find his perfect family  His mom and dad weigh 11 pounds and so will Rooster. At 3 months he weighs 5 pounds.  We expect the weight range to be 14 pounds when fully grown.  He is not potty trained  yet due to his young age, but he is very socialized and very sweet.  He has been around large dogs and cats in the foster home and he loves to meet new people and be held.  The ultimate Fluff Puppy!!  please write to us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  We transport from Nashville, Tn and he could leave on Nov. 22nd to come northward.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 29, 2025, 3:20 pm

Story
Meet Carter. This adorable little Poodle pup was found as a stray and taken in by a Good Samaritan who reached out to our rescue for help. He was unneutered and treated for ear infections and a UTI, but is otherwise a healthy boy. His coat was unkempt, but after a full groom, his fluffy white coat looks healthy and full again. Carter is currently being fostered by Hannah alongside her two small senior dogs. Hannah reports that he’s doing well. Like many dogs, he needed a bit of time to settle in and figure out his place in the pack. He’s more dominant than submissive in the pack, and was initially a little protective around affection and toys, but once he adjusted and was neutered, he relaxed significantly. Hannah describes Carter as confident, cuddly, and very affectionate. He’s definitely a people-lover and wants to be right by your side. He snuggles up in bed with Hannah at night and is social and sweet with everyone he meets. He has been around young kids, Hannah’s six-year-old nephew, and Carter was comfortable, just a bit jumpy with excitement. For that reason, he’s likely best suited for families with children 7+. Carter is housetrained and crate-trained, and Hannah crates him when she leaves the house for work. He’s not a huge fan of the crate, but if left out unattended, he is more stressed. We recommend crating him initially. He does settle in, but an adopter with a flexible schedule would be ideal. He needs time to settle in and trust his new environment. He would do well as an only dog or with a mellow resident dog that matches his energy level. Hannah walks Carter at least once a day and says his leash skills are solid; he pulls a little, but overall does well and enjoys his walks. He also rides nicely in the car and would love to go places and join his new family on adventures. Carter will be coming to the DC metro area on 12/6. Apply today to welcome him home! BREED ESTIMATE: Miniature Poodle GENDER: Male APPROXIMATE WEIGHT:  17 lbs  APPROXIMATE AGE: ~ 3 to 4 years old COAT TYPE: Fluffy Coat that requires regular grooming ADOPTION FEE: $425.00 OTHER INFO: utd on shots/neuterd/microchipped LOCATION: Charlotte, NC   FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application. You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted. Every person who fosters is directly responsible for saving the life of a dog, because we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes. If you think you might be interested in becoming a foster and want to learn more, please go to https://foster.worthydog.org and fill out an application. Worthy Dog Rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue that primarily adopts to families in the DC Metro area. November 28, 2025, 6:18 pm
