He is up to date on shots and is house trained to puppy pads BUT.... his only fault is that he will mark corners of furniture and anything else he claims as his. He is very loving and sweet. Great dog. Good boy! He likes cuddles and scratches. Neutered. Microchipped. Looking for a fenced yard, active individual/family. He is used to people being home most of the time. No crates. Meet Flossy Flossy is adorable. She is also a project. And we mean that in the most loving way possible. Flossy spent her life as a breeder dog and never learned that people could be safe or wonderful. She arrived terrified, running circles, growling, and wanting nothing to do with humans. A year later, she is still very much a work in transformation, but she has made progress that once seemed almost impossible. Flossy is not a turnkey dog. She will not arrive and be comfortable in a week or two. Her adopter needs patience, understanding, and a willingness to let her set the pace. She may never be a dog who runs to greet you, curls up in your lap, or wants to go everywhere with you. Her version of trust may always look different. She is terrified outside her comfort zone. Leaving the yard is overwhelming, and attempts at outings have left her frozen. She needs a very secure fenced yard and a home where adventures can happen at home.Flossy thrives on routine and predictability. She knows her schedule and expects meals on time. She may bark if you make eye contact or dinner is late, and she can have accidents when her routine is disrupted or she is startled. She also will not enter or leave the house if a person is standing in the doorway. These are not quirks that will disappear overnight. They are part of understanding Flossy. She is not currently a good canine playmate and doesn't feel comfortable when dogs get too close. She needs respectful companions who give her plenty of space. A calm dog may eventually be possible, but careful management and introductions will be essential. And then there are the tiny miracles. After a year with her foster family, Flossy has recently allowed herself to be picked up and petted. She accepts affection while elevated on a bed, loves being groomed, and sleeps like a dream in a human bed.Then one day, she joyfully bounded to the end of the yard to greet her foster dad as he drove down the driveway.After a year, her foster family finally saw joy.Flossy is still a complicated little dog, and her adopter must be prepared for a long-term project rather than a quick transformation. But she is also incredibly cute, wonderfully funny, and finally beginning to understand that life can be good. She needs a quiet, adult-only home with a secure fenced yard and someone who genuinely finds fulfillment in helping a fearful dog discover her own version of happiness. She seems to prefer men, so a male adopter may be especially appealing to her. Flossy may never throw herself into your arms. But if you have the patience to celebrate the little things, she might someday let you pick her up, accept a few pets, or bounce across the yard to greet you. Current Location: Vienna, VA Buck is a handsome 4-year-old Golden Retriever Poodle mix with a gorgeous golden coat, a strapping 60-pound build, and a whole lot of enthusiasm for life! Buck is curious about the world around him, especially when he spots a deer, bird, or squirrel. He may try to pull toward them, but he can be redirected and continue his walk. He is still working on his leash manners and learning to walk on the left with a loose leash. He is making progress and will benefit from continued practice and positive reinforcement. Buck is also a big fan of food, which comes in handy for training. He is working on “sit” and occasionally demonstrates what we like to call selective hearing. His hearing seems to improve dramatically when there is a treat in hand or a food bowl nearby! He can get very excited when it is time to come out of his crate or go for a walk. He may jump, pace, and work himself up before settling into the activity. With consistency and patience, he is learning to manage that excitement. Buck is a good eater, sleeps through the night in his crate, and is quiet and comfortable while crated. He is generally a quiet boy and has only barked back at a particularly chatty Miniature Pinscher. Best of all, Buck enjoys other dogs and would love having a canine companion. He is already neutered and ready to find a family who will appreciate his big heart, handsome looks, and enthusiastic personality. This is Remi! She is three years old. We recently adopted her from a foster family but realized her needs do not suit ours. Remi was attacked by a dog about a year ago and, because of that, needs a home without any other pets. The reason she does not suit us is because Remi is an absolute people-loving dog. She does well 6-8 hours alone at home but is too much of a velcro dog for us otherwise—true to bernedoodle nature. She is a mini bernedoodle couch potato, about 25 lbs, who demands pets and love. She falls in love with her people and is a wonderful companion dog, but can be wary with strangers. She does exceptionally on walks and has great recall. She has no behavioral issues and she is completely potty trained. Her vaccines are up to date and she has a supply of food and flea/tick/heartworm medication. We also have other supplies that come with Remi. Remi is truly the sweetest girl who loves people and being loved on. :)

The CSAC volunteer said that I was very sweet and loved to sit in her husband's lap or on his feet during my freedom ride. I need a home that will help me lose a few pounds, but as a senior girl, my walking will be limited. I do like to stand up and dance around on my hind legs. I want a calm household that will love me for the rest of my days and become my new cuddle buddy. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished pet.
