Name: Teddy        Best Guess for Breed: Poodle mix Best Guess for Age: 5 years as of December 2023       SEX:   Male   Approximate Weight: 16 lbs   Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested   Currently Living at:   Oklahoma shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get on a freedom flight here on Saturday 12/9!   Teddy is Looking For:  His forever family! This cutie found himself in the shelter through no fault of his own and is eager to once again have his own humans. He's eagerfor sniffy walks, romps in the park, and world exploration. Trying out all the toys to see what he likes best, quality kibble, and a cushy dog bed are on his wish list as well, just below 'regular coat maintenance.' That type of poodle mix coat is high maintenance, requiring daily brushing AND regular professional grooming to prevent painful mats. Teddy had to be shaved down when he arrived in the shelter; we never want him to have to go through that again.   Most of all, he wants to know he's safe and loved and under his own roof. In exchange, he promises cuteness and adoring gazes and loyal companionship (lap warming is an option as well!). What do you say? Her sniffer works very well though and she knows how to find the object of her heart - her humans!   Lily is Looking For:  It's always sad when a dog suddenly needs a new home through no fault of their own. It's even sadder when that dog is older. But Lily is looking to the future, not the past. She is oh so eager to once again have her own humans and give them all the snuggles she's storing up. Especially as we get into the colder winter months. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed round out her list of wants, and she has some needs as well. That poodle type coat - it's high maintenance and requires daily brushing in addition to regular professional grooming to prevent painful mats. And quality kibble and a cushy dog bed and regular grooming (with that type of mixed poodle coat coat, a lot of care, both daily brushing and regular grooming is a must!). And especially for cuddles! Shelter staff say he's pretty chill.   He's out of the puppy yips and as a wise, experienced dog, knows what's most important - being safe and loved and under his own roof. That's tops on his list. Simply Sophie  is at first glance our little disheveled looking girl that is actually the combination of a Poodle and a Wiry Jack Russell breed.   This  darling little white cloud of fur looks like she just came through to the other side of a Texas Twister that blew her every which way. She really can’t help it…she has little cowlicks everywhere and probably some grooming is in order very soon to tame the tendrils that look all askew.  This is a really young and impressionable girl that is only 9 months old and weighs 12 pounds.  We feel she will not get much bigger than these 12 pounds, which is a top weight for her.  She will not get any bigger and oh goodness is she adorable.  Simply Sophie is a shy little dog that came from a women that was losing her home and moving  where she could not take her sweet dog to live with her.  Simply Sophie gets along with other dogs and we know she would be fine with cats too if she had to live with the.   She has learned how to walk on a leash and she is crate trained with successful training on pee pads inside the house.  Sophie is a little shy at first but it doesn't take long for her to warm up and show you her true colors of sweet gentleness.  We are looking for a mature home with older children or a single person or empty nesters or early retirees.  Invite this girl to sit on your lap for the rest of her life and you will gain ALL there is to gain in loving a sweet soul that   She is very sweet and loves to be a lap dog.   Give yourself the gift of everyday love and adoration from a Shy Sophie.  Walk her on a leash several times a day and soon the shyness will melt away and there still stand a sweet flower.   Email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.December 8, 2023, 9:38 am
