Story
Meet Remi – A Gentle Soul on the Mend, Ready for His Forever Home 💛🐾 Remi's story is one of quiet resilience and hope. This sweet boy is Chelsea’s (Harper) brother, and when his family reached out for help, we knew we had to step in. Remi came to us in heartbreaking condition—covered in fleas, suffering from painful skin trauma, and battling anemia likely caused by the severe infestation. Shortly after arriving, Remi began vomiting and experiencing diarrhea. To our shock, he even threw up two pieces of fabric 😞. We rushed him in for X-rays to rule out a blockage. While no full obstruction was found, remnants of foreign material are still in his system. He’s now receiving round-the-clock care, including IV fluids, GI protectants, and ongoing hospitalization to monitor his recovery closely. Despite everything, Remi remains incredibly sweet and gentle. He’s already had his first medicated bath and is starting treatment for his skin—his road to healing is just beginning, but his spirit is already shining through. Remi is amazing with other dogs, loves to cuddle, and is happiest lounging by your side. He may have been neglected in the past, but all this boy wants now is love, comfort, and a safe place to call home. Remi is: 🐶 Friendly with other dogs 🛌 A champion snuggler and nap buddy 🩺 Receiving continued treatment for skin healing 💛 Deserving of a family to show him what true love feels like Remi’s forever family will be part of his healing journey—and his biggest cheerleaders as he becomes the healthy, happy dog he was always meant to be. Apply to adopt Remi today and give him the safe, loving home he’s waited so long for.

Story
Meet Peter! Peter is a small, white Mini Schnauzer mix with a lot of personality packed into his little frame. Rescued from the shelter just in time, Peter has been given a second chance at life, and now we’re looking for his perfect forever home. Peter’s ideal adopter is an experienced dog owner who understands that some dogs need a little extra care and patience. Peter has shown some bite tendencies, and while we’re working with a trainer to understand his triggers, it’s important to be mindful of his boundaries. He doesn’t like being picked up and prefers not to be pet unless he comes to you first. When he feels safe and comfortable, Peter can be snuggly and affectionate—but it’s always on his terms. He is good with other dogs, so a canine companion could be a great fit for him. However, because of his biting history, Peter should not be in a home with children. Peter isn’t just a dog—he’s a work in progress who needs someone willing to invest time, patience, and love into helping him thrive. In the right home, Peter’s personality will shine, and he’ll reward you with loyalty and companionship. If you’re the experienced, patient adopter Peter needs, please fill out an application on our website. Peter is waiting for someone to see the good dog he truly is and help him live his best life.

Story
Bonded Mother and Daughter who would love a forever home together! Meet Winnie and Wila, a mother and daughter who have a bond so strong that we really feel it's in their best interest to be adopted together. Winnie (mom) and Wila (daughter) came to us when Winnie was rescued, pregnant off the streets in Tijuana. An independent rescuer we work with got her to the vet immediately. She unfortunately lost all her puppies, but one...Wila. Winnie had a terrible skin condition that looked so rough and painful, but with the right treatment and months of TLC, she got better. Winnie is an approximately 3/4 year old MinPin mix that is about 12lbs and Wila is an aproximately 2 year old, Schnauzer/Terrier mix that is around 17lbs. The girls are in a foster home together and when we tried separating them, it did not go well. Wila cried and got frantic looking for her mom and that's when we knew they needed to be adopted together. Both girls are good with other dogs and love people! They would love a home with a safe and secure backyard to run around in along with owners that are not gone long hours during the day. Wila does do some "protective barking" on leash and needs a good leader who will gently correct her and let her know that everything is ok. To see the girls cuddled together and see the bond they have will definitely make you understand why we must have them adopted as a pair. We know that their forever home is out there! Wila and Winnie are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. We only adopt in the greater LA areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Please contact us at gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020

Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION INTRODUCING MR. FINLEY….. This 4-5 year old, 18 lb dapper dude is a mix of a few breeds – possibly Shih Tzu, Lhasa Apso, Schnauzer, and Poodle (his mother was probably a hussy)! Whatever he is, it’s 100% adorable. We don’t know about Finley’s past, but it’s clear he hasn’t had an easy time. Initially, he was a bit skittish and shy, he would hide and we had to “nudge” him to out — but his new foster dad said…no more! He has officially transformed into a sweet and affectionate companion. They have told us that he has really settled in and is getting along famously with the other dogs, people on the street, kids, he loves to greet people and let them know he’d like to get to know them!! Finley would do best in a reassuring environment, hopefully with a yard and maybe another playful, happy dog, maybe even a little bigger than he is. Training will help him bond and adjust, especially in the potty department, where he is doing very well. He is very smart and now that his fear has subsided, we’re sure he will be an easy train. He’s great with other dogs and kids over 8 yrs, and when he feels safe and loved, he’ll be a loyal and loving companion. The key element to success with Finley will be attention and love. He is not a barker and will be a wonderful companion when he is comfortable and realizes he is safe and adored. If you’re looking for a furry friend who just needs a little extra TLC, Finley could be the perfect match for you! Are you ready to open your heart and home to this sweet boy? Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We will contact you once it has been reviewed. Lhasa Happy Homes will be now holding our adoption events the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month on Main Street in Santa Monica (check calendar link below for special events and directions). Our event is located at 2116 Main Street, in Santa Monica, CA. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household. Main Street is famous for its innovative shops and is close to the beach! Make a day of it!! Metered parking on the street and free parking on 4th and Bicknell Streets. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring pictures or video of your home and yard if we have not done a home check (preferred)! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting! Don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on upcoming events! See our home page for more details about our adoptions at Lhasa Happy Homes Thanks for thinking rescue and adoption and for considering saving a life. This is a courtesy posting, if interested in Maddie contact Patty at olliesmom000@gmail.com. Maddie is located in El Monte CA. Please note Miniature Schnauzers & Friends Rescue bears no responsibility for any adoptions or contacts made through courtesy postings. Maddie - 9 year old female Miniature Schnauzer. Maddie has soft tissue sarcoma on her left paw. She has had two surgeries to remove it but it will continue to grow back. She may need an amputation in the future. Sadly because of her medical issues, her family needs to rehome her as they would be unable provide her with the post surgery care (having two young children). Maddie is a very sweet dog, she loves to cuddle and loves attention. She loves walks and sometimes playing catch. She is friendly with all other animals and little kids. She can be a barker when she sees new people or animals because she gets very excited. She has lived with her fur companion for the past 9 years and is very attached, it would be best if she has a fur companion. She is only about 23 pounds. Maddie is currently living in El Monte CA. If interested in adopting Maddie and if you can care for her, please contact her owner Patty at olliesmom000@gmail.com.
