Story
So cute and so much fun....Meet Charlie! This handsome boy is looking for his forever home! Charlie is an approx 2-3 year old, male, 16lb, Poodle/Schnauzer/Terrier mix (best guess) that we rescued from a local shelter where he was brought in as an owner surrender. We were asked if we could help by taking him into our foundation and we said yes! Charlie is such an amazing dog! He is so full of life and love! We are looking for a forever home for him with another playful and active dog that he can grow and play with. Owners that are not gone long hours during the day would be ideal along with a home that has a safe and secure yard to run around in. Charlie has quite the personality and so much love to give! He deserves the best forever home out there! Charlie is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. We only adopt in Southern California as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Please contact us at gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020

Story
Meet Arin (Schnauzer × Maltese Mix | 3 Years Old | 7.8kg / 35 cm tall / Spayed Female)   Arin is a gentle, soft-hearted little girl who is learning what it means to be safe She’s the perfect small companion with a calm and quiet presence.   Her Story Arin was rescued from a severe animal hoarding situation involving over 230 dogs in Seoul. The city supported spay surgery and vaccinations, and she is now under the care of AKR and international adoption support.   Despite her past, Arin has kept her gentle spirit.   Personality & Socialization   With People She may be slightly shy at first, but offer a treat and she warms up quickly. Once she knows you, she will: • Come over to greet you • Lean her little body against you • Rub her bottom on you for attention • Even bark softly to say “notice me!”   She has no preference between men or women. She can be picked up by placing an arm under her belly, and once bonded, she’ll even roll over to show her tummy.   With Other Dogs • She politely greets unfamiliar dogs • Prefers quiet independence rather than active play • Not reactive, even if another dog provokes her • Not particularly afraid of large dogs   Because she comes from a hoarding background, she may initially feel more secure in a home where another calm dog is present. If adopted as an only dog, early separation-anxiety prevention and confidence building will be important.   With Cats Shows curiosity during walks but follows handler guidance easily.     Energy & Lifestyle • Energy Level: Low • Loves resting and staying calm • Walks nicely on leash once settled • Not sensitive to car noise • No pulling once guided   She does bark when she wants something (mild demand barking), but she does not guard food from people or dogs.   Crate & Training • Calm in a kennel • Nervous about getting into the car (needs to be lifted in) • Uses both pee pads indoors and outdoor potty     Ideal Home Arin would thrive in: • A calm household • Someone patient and gentle • A home that understands she may need time to fully blossom • Possibly with another calm dog for reassurance   She is not a high-maintenance dog. She is simply a quiet soul who needs stability and kindness.   If you’re looking for a soft, steady companion who will slowly attach her whole heart to you, Arin may be your girl Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook and Instagram! Story
Ryder is the total package! This sweet and lovable Cairn terrier mix is the definition of a loyal companion. With a laid-back, easy-going nature, Ryder is happy to hang out with you on the couch or play fetch in the yard — especially if there are doggie snacks involved! Ryder was rescued at 8 weeks old from Hesperia Shelter, with a sibling who passed from parvo soon after they arrived. Ryder never developed parvo and has been healthy since that time. He gets along wonderfully with kids and other dogs, and his non-shedding coat makes him a great option for families who prefer less fur around the house. Ryder’s calm, affectionate, and loyal personality makes him an ideal addition to just about any home. He is microchipped, neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. Ryder is currently being fostered in San Bernadino County, CA and must be picked up from there. For adoption information, please contact AlphaDogPetRescue@yahoo.com
