Story
Playful, petite, and practically perfect, little Poppy is in search of her forever family. This young adult would love a home that is seeking a companion while also providing daily exercise, treats, and lots of ear scratches. She happily co-exists with other canines but hasn't quite figured out the playmate role yet. Instead she'll toss around her own toys and entertain herself if you are otherwise occupied. In her short life, Poppy has experienced a number of changes and takes a minute to warm up -- if you go at her pace upon introduction, in about 3 minutes she'll reward you with the sweetest and softest kisses (treats don't hurt either). A fan of her crate, Poppy likes to sleep in one at night. Her current leash skills would make her an excellent daily walking buddy. Once she learns the routine in her new home, the final touches on her housebreaking should quickly follow. She'll happily accompany her people outside to do her business then head back in for more snuggle time. This sweet soul cannot wait to meet her forever people! Poppy is a 1-year-old mixed breed rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $800 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, 4DX testing, and spay. Poppy is also tested with other dogs, children, and potty and kennel trained. She is not tested with cats. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if she might be a good fit for your home. The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals. We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!) Please note, we do not have the ability to process adoption applications at our adoption events, so please plan accordingly. If an application is submitted past 5pm on Monday-Thursday, it will begin review the following day. If submitted on Friday-Sunday, it will begin review on Monday. It takes approximately 1-2 business days for an application to be processed. Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525). For additional questions regarding meeting this dog please contact us via text/email at 970.699.6772, or contact@bounceanimalrescue.org. We apologize for any inconvenience, but due to a high volume of inquiries, calls and voicemails regarding adoption will not be returned. Thank you for choosing adoption! Story
"Sage is a sweet, sensitive girl who’s still learning that the world is a safe place. She can be a bit skittish at first—fast movements especially—but once she trusts you, she’s very loving and gentle. She cautiously approaches new people, warms up with patience, and then shows her soft, affectionate side. Sage is 1.5 years old and weighs only 31 lbs. She’s potty trained and crate trained (though the crate isn’t her favorite) and has done well with free roam in the home. Sage is very quiet overall — we’ve only heard her bark once! She loves other dogs and enjoys their company, though she may also be perfectly content as an only dog. She adores cozy blankets and chewing on bones. Sage is learning leash skills and improves with treats and encouragement, but she can shut down when things feel overwhelming—slow, positive guidance is key. She’d thrive in a calm, patient home with a fenced in yard that lets her build confidence at her own pace. If you want a gentle soul to grow with and love deeply, Sage is your girl. 💛" Sage is being fostered in Firestone, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/sage/. Story
Jake is a 2-3 year old, 20lb Schnauzer/Poodle mix (maybe? we don't actually know his breeds, it's all a guess).  Jake was found as a stray and dumped a shelter in Kansas.  He was with a couple other dogs when he was found but was the least terrified out of all of them.  The shelter reached out to us in hopes we could bring him into our foster program and help him come out of his shell and learn how to be a dog.  He has now been with us for a couple months and is ready to find his forever family!  When he was first found he was super matted and had a thick, dirty coat so he was completely shaved down.  His fur is starting to grow out again.  He has super soft, fluffy fur, and seems to be mostly non-shedding, but we cannot guarantee he is hypoallergenic since we don't know his background.  He will need regular grooming appointments though to keep him looking handsome and feeling great.   Jake has really started to blossom and learn all that life has to offer as a loved and cherished dog.  He seems to be a dog who picks one human to really bond with.  He follows his foster dad around the house everywhere and loves to snuggle with him.  He would do great in a lower key home with a human or humans who will be patient with him and let him learn to trust them at his own pace.  We know he will bond with his forever human the same way he has with his foster dad, he just needs to be given the time to do so.  He does well with cats and we will require he goes to a home with another dog so he can continue to learn from the behaviors of a confident dog.  Jake does great on a leash and is learning to loves walks around the neighborhood, romping around the backyard with the other dogs, and snuggling up with the other dogs and his foster dad during down time.   If you are interested in giving Jake a forever home, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2433456##
