Story
Oso is a sweet fellow who has been quite overwhelmed by his shelter stay resulting in some fearful behavior. Oso is in search of a patient family that is willing to allow him the time and freedom to settle in at his own pace. Oso would likely transition best into a quiet house and at this time FAS will only rehome to a family with children 10 years of age or older. Story
Hi, my name is Shortie! Kelsey and RezDawg Rescue saved me from being euthanized, and I am so very thankful. I was given a second chance at life — and I don’t take that for granted. Not only am I Shortie… I’m a total cutie too! I’m a 3 year-old Schnauzer who is a joy to be around. I love to play — chasing balls and fetching are some of my favorite things! I enjoy running in the yard, going on car rides, and being part of whatever my humans are doing. I get along great with kitty cats, other dogs, kids, and people of all ages. I’m social, loving, and happiest when I’m included. And when the day winds down? My favorite place is snuggled up right next to you in bed or curled beside you on the couch. I am neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all my vaccines, including rabies, so I’m healthy and ready for my forever home. I survived. I was saved. And now I’m just looking for a family who will love me for the rest of my life. Could that be you? If you fill out a non-obligation adoption application you and I could meet and see if we are a good fit for one another and your family dynamics. I sure hope to meet you soon!! ##2666238##

Story
Caramel is a sweet, mature gentleman who enjoys the little things in life. He is an easy going guy who gets along with dogs of all sizes and cats. He would be equally happy as an only dog. He is great with house training if let out adequately. He’s quite content to snuggle up next to you on the couch and just be near his humans. He’s also fond of his tennis ball and a light game of fetch. He is crate trained but prefers his humans’ company. He really is a perfect mild mannered buddy and would be perfect for a retiree. Caramel is estimated to be 10 years old. He is 32 lbs. He joined MHCR from a hoarding case in New Mexico. Caramel is ready to go medically and has had extensive dental work making him all set for his retirement home. Caramel is in foster in Mead, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/caramel You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

HIGHLIGHTS: - Requires another confident dog already established in the home Meet Echo – A Shy Heart with a Playful Spirit Echo is a 12.5-pound Miniature Schnauzer with a gentle soul and a playful spark that shines brightest around other dogs. Though shy at first and hesitant with people, Echo lights up in the company of canine companions—running, playing, and gaining confidence through their guidance. She’ll need a calm, patient home with another confident dog already established to help her continue learning the ropes. Echo is still figuring out how to trust people, but she’s showing wonderful potential with each small step forward. With steady encouragement and the support of a furry friend, Echo is sure to continue blossoming into a sweet and joyful companion. --------- Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
Rudy is a 3-year-old Miniature Schnauzer weighing 12 pounds. She’s a shy, sensitive girl who is still learning to trust people, but her strong food motivation makes treats a wonderful way to build positive connections and encourage her confidence. Rudy is very attached to her canine companions and feels safest when she has another dog by her side. She requires a confident, friendly dog already established in the home to help her feel secure and navigate new situations. She also requires a securely fenced yard, where she can safely explore at her own pace. Fast movements, loud noises, and unfamiliar situations can make Rudy nervous, so she needs a calm, predictable environment in order to continue making progress. A quiet household with consistent routines will help her feel safe and allow her personality to slowly shine through. While Rudy may be reserved at first, she secretly enjoys being held by the people she trusts—those gentle moments help strengthen her bond once she feels safe. She enjoys puzzle toys that keep her mind engaged and responds well to positive, reward-based interactions. Rudy will do best in a patient home that is confident handling small dogs and understands the needs of shy, sensitive pups. With time, consistency, and kindness, Rudy has the potential to blossom into a loyal, affectionate companion who thrives alongside her canine friend. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet.
