Story
Asha’s owners loved her, but had a farm and she had a taste for the owner's chickens and made the choice to surrender her. Asha is high energy and loves to play, but also loves her snuggles and to be with people. She has tested well with dogs, but due to her prey drive towards chickens, we are hesitant to suggest a home with small animals/cats. Asha is heartworm negative, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for her new home. This furbaby is located at Animal Harbor in southern middle TN. You can apply at www.animalharbor.org . If approved, we will facilitate a virtual meet and greet and answer any questions you may have. We partner with the awesome transport service company Rescue Riders to safely and professionally move our animals to their loving new homes!

Story
This family was found in an abandoned building and with it being winter, was brought to the shelter so they would survive….. and their mama has done a wonderful job with them!! They are a cute mixture of colors and personalities. Their mom is a mountain cur mix and we have no idea on the dad so we aren't sure. of any prey drive. They are a fun group of puppies and are now playing with other puppies just fine. Abel was the runt of this litter. He has the most wonderful fun personality. He likes nothing more than to be held and kiss your face. We aren't thinking he's gonna be even close to his mom's size since he is half the size of his siblings but he may sprout overnight!? He will need the basic puppy training but should do fine in any type home. He is a curious pup so will need an eye kept on him as he's small enough to get into a lot of things. He is a little fighter ready to have his own family. Abel is being fostered in TN but we do transport every weekend alternating between the Northeast and the Midwest. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

He gets along with the other puppies but always enjoys any extra attention. He will need the basic puppy training but this group catches on quite quick. He is just a fun baby that is looking to have more fun with a new family. He will do well with any family, he would just need some consistent play or exercise. AJ is being fostered in TN but no worries we transport using the most animal-friendly transports on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. Story
This is Marley. He is 5 years old. He's black, white, and brindle. Furthermore, he's a Mountain cur lab mix. Marley is a friendly, loving dog who's very adventurous and loves being outdoors and enjoys his daily walks. Marley can be stubborn but with the firm training he is a great dog. He can be very excitable towards other dogs, however he’s not too sure about other cats. He definitely needs a lot of space or a full fenced yard big enough for him to run around and play.

Story
Kodiak! This handsome hunk is Kodiak. He was adopted from us as a puppy about a year and a half ago and while he was well loved some major family changes (through no fault of Kodiak's) made his family decide that they were not giving him the time and attention he needs. As sad and confused as Kodiak is at losing the only family he knows he is trying really hard to put on a brave face and is now looking towards to future. He is an energetic goofball and would love an active, adventurous family. Like hiking? So does Kodiak! How about games of fetch? Kodiak is your guy! Kodiak is housebroken and crate trained, although we would expect any dog might have a few accidents while they transition ot a new home and routine. Although Kodiak is very dog friendly he is also a (large) bundle of energy and may intimidate some dogs with his....exuberance. He did happily live with another dog since puppyhood. Although he lived with a very young child he is a 60 lb freight train at times and as such will accidentally knock over little ones and would do best with older kids or an adult home. Interested in Kodiak? Please go to www.dogtownrescue.org to complete an online adoption application

Story
We are desperately seeking a foster home for our Luna girl. She's a 6 year old 50ish lb beautiful brindle girl.  A few months ago, Luna came back to us when her adopter’s housing situation changed. Without an open foster home, Luna went into boarding. She has been doing really well there, but we’d love to see her back in a home.   Luna hasn’t lived with other dogs before and we’re told she can be dog selective, so we’re looking for a foster home where she can be the only dog for now. She’s happy to pass by others on walks, we just don’t know yet if she wants to share space with them. Luna is not a fan of the crate so someone who is home more often than not who can give her time to acclimate to a new environment is ideal. Her biggest joy is hanging on the couch by your side. Luna  has a moderate energy level and walks pretty well with a harness. She is housebroken, but there may be an adjustment period as she transitions back into a home from a kennel. She’s very loving and attentive to her person. Although she hasn't lived with them, she is fine with kids.  If you can foster Luna, even if only temporarily, please email almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com     Luna is a 6 year old beautiful brindle girl. She is friendly and fine with kids.   Please email us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com is the right one for you! (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US!  We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php and http://www.hollysden.com/say_no_to_shock.htm (scroll down and click on the  "Invisible Fencing Systems" link). We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 30, 2024, 9:34 pm
