Hi! My name is Princess and I am a 5 year, possible catahoula/mountain curr mix and I weigh 49 pounds. My previous owners had to move and their new home didn't allow pets. I am a happy dog and I'm like a Walmart greeter - everyone is my friend. I know how to sit when told and shake. One of my favorite things to do is to go for walks. I try my best to behave but can tug on the leash here and there. And if I see a squirrel, I tug hard for a moment or two. I really want to chase them. I am a smart girl but with a bit of patience and training, I will be a well behaved dog. I currently live with another larger dog. We are good buddies. When I go to the dog park, I am cautious and curious around other dogs. When the leash is off, I love to run super fast. WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Cameo, a beautiful name for a beautiful gal like me. I have the sweet natured attitude that will make me a great family addition. At 2 years old, I'm also at a great age where as I'm still playful but way past that destructive puppy stage. That sure makes for a nice combo for my new family. Oh and another nice thing...I'm already house trained too!! I have an amazing tiger striped pattern in my coat and show stopping amber colored eyes which make for a stunning combo!! My hairytage of the Mountain Cur and the Plott hound makes for the beautiful swirling stripe pattern of my coat, a genetic characteristic. My personality is sweet, sweet, sweet and I am very human oriented. I love giving and getting kisses and spending time with my people. Also, for a medium sized dog of 55ish lbs, I am a great snuggler!! I will wrap myself around my Foster Mum and delight in the attention!! I will stay there snuggling for as long as she has time! I walk well on leash and know how to sit and stay. I have great focus and pay attention really well. I am a people pleaser and will try to do whatever it takes to make you happy!! I get on well with most all other doggies and enjoy romping in the yard getting a good game of keep away or tag you're it going but I LOVE hoomans and haven't met a stranger yet, I'm pretty sure everyone is here just to give me lots of lovins!! :) I'm a great size to make you a pawsome action adventure type companion, whether it's going for neighborhood strolls, camping trips or hikes in the wilderness, I'm willing and ready! And then after our fun, I love my beloved snuggles by the fireplace (on the couch is fine too). I'm up for trying it all with...YOU!! If you are looking for a "dog of a different color", then look no further!! I for sure want to be your gal!!

Meet Cherry 🍒 2 year old, Mixed breed, 30lbs, female Cherry came to us a few months ago after she was abandoned in a parking lot with cardboard box full of newborn pups. Luckily a Good Samaritan picked her up and got her to safety. She had 8 beautiful pups and she was such a good mommy. Now it’s her turn to find a forever home! She is on the submissive side and good with other dogs. She is house trained, although we do think she has never lived indoors with a family. We are working on her confidence and she will need a patient home. Cherry is very sweet and loves her belly rubbed. We believe she may be a Mountain Cur mix. Cherry is now current on vaccines, heart worm tested negative, spay, and microchipped. We are accepting applications at https://form.jotform.com/secondhandpaws/app

Buttercup is the middle sister to Blossom and Bubbles (adopted) and is also ready to be adopted! Blossom enjoys playing in water, she absolutely loves to lay in the pool or use her foot on the sprinkler like a hand. Buttercup is already showing signs of being housebroken as her kennel is always clean. Buttercup will be the perfect dog for any family. She is great with cats, dogs, and children. She loves to talk and will let you know if she is happy or needs something. Her favorite thing to do is rough house with her sister Blossom while out in the yard. Buttercup is ready for adoption. Blossom is the older sister to Buttercup and Bubbles (adopted) and is so ready to be adopted! Blossom loves to play in water and can spend hours having a blast. No matter if it is a pool or sprinkler, she will find a way to have fun. Once the fun is over and it’s time for a nap, you can find Blossom relaxing in the pool as if it was a hot tub. Blossom will need some basic household training, but she is smart enough to catch on quickly. Blossom can spend hours rough housing with her sister Buttercup while out in the yard together. She is great with cats, dogs, and children.
