Welcome back Jax (Newton) ❤️ Born 5/19/23, approximately 20lbs, neutered male Introducing Jax! Jax is looking for a new family, he was adopted as a puppy but was returned to rescue. Jax is a Mountain Cur/ Australian Cattle Dog and Rat Terrier mix, which means he is driven and craves attention. He has an eagerness to please that we don’t see in many dogs, making him a fantastic dog for someone who enjoys the outdoors, such as hiking, walking, camping or just a leisure walk around the neighborhood. Jax would also excel at agility or a similar activity, he is a quick and agile guy. Jax can be a bit possessive of his person and his toys so he needs a person who while give him clear direction and corrections. He responds very well to verbal commands, he knows what is expected, but he likes to push those boundaries sometimes, he is still young after all. Jax is totally house and crate trained. He walks well on a leash and knows several commands such as sit, down, shake, drop it and stay. If Jax sounds like he would be a good fit for your life, he would love to meet you! Meet Leo! Leo is an 8-year-old, 80-pound Pointer mix with a heart just as big as his long legs, looking for an adopter! While we're not exactly sure what breeds make up his mix, one thing is certain—there's definitely something much larger like Labrador Retriever than your average Pointer in there. This handsome guy loves having plenty of room to stretch out, especially when he's relaxing near his favorite people. Leo's superpowers include being an excellent canine companion (he gets along wonderfully with other friendly dogs), faithfully announcing when the mail has arrived, and doubling as a personal space heater—this boy is a furnace when it comes to cuddles! Leo currently takes a daily Prozac which he took to help him feel more comfortable around an energetic toddler, though he lived happily without medication for his first five years in the home. He will be ready to wean off the medication after adoption. Leo loves his daily walks and enjoys following every scent along the way. Spot a squirrel? Be prepared—he has a strong pull! Despite his enthusiasm, if he actually caught one, he'd probably just try to make friends, so hunting isn't exactly his calling.
