Meet Cherry 🍒 2 year old, Mixed breed, 30lbs, female Cherry came to us a few months ago after she was abandoned in a parking lot with cardboard box full of newborn pups. Luckily a Good Samaritan picked her up and got her to safety. She had 8 beautiful pups and she was such a good mommy. Now it’s her turn to find a forever home! She is on the submissive side and good with other dogs. She is house trained, although we do think she has never lived indoors with a family. We are working on her confidence and she will need a patient home. Cherry is very sweet and loves her belly rubbed. We believe she may be a Mountain Cur mix. Welcome back Jax (Newton) ❤️ Born 5/19/23, approximately 20lbs, neutered male Introducing Jax! Jax is looking for a new family, he was adopted as a puppy but was returned to rescue. Jax is a Mountain Cur/ Australian Cattle Dog and Rat Terrier mix, which means he is driven and craves attention. He has an eagerness to please that we don’t see in many dogs, making him a fantastic dog for someone who enjoys the outdoors, such as hiking, walking, camping or just a leisure walk around the neighborhood. Jax would also excel at agility or a similar activity, he is a quick and agile guy. Jax can be a bit possessive of his person and his toys so he needs a person who while give him clear direction and corrections. He responds very well to verbal commands, he knows what is expected, but he likes to push those boundaries sometimes, he is still young after all. Jax is totally house and crate trained. He walks well on a leash and knows several commands such as sit, down, shake, drop it and stay. If Jax sounds like he would be a good fit for your life, he would love to meet you! Meet Trenton! This good boy is the whole package! He is a mixed breed, best guess English pointer/boxer mix, and no one breed is evident. He is 2-year-old medium sized (55 pound) love bug who is gentle and adores kids. He is house trained. It does not appear he has been taught basic commands, but he should be a quick learner as he learned the doggy door ropes in a single day. The crate is not his favorite. He will go in when bribed with delicious treats and sleep quietly through the night. He mimics the vibe of the house by playing when we are active and snuggling on couch when we are quiet. He also gets along with other dogs, playing or backing off at the appropriate times. As he has settled into his foster home, he has started wrestling with the alpha dog of the house. Trenton deserves someone who will shower him with attention, car rides and rounds of fetch. He is everyone’s best friend, can he be yours? Trenton is neutered and up to date on all vaccines, flea and heartworm medication.

PHILLIP is a stunning young mixed breed dog looking for a home. He's around 1 year old and appears to be fully grown at 39 pounds although he could stand to gain a couple of pounds. Our best guess on breed is a Plott Hound/Beagle mix. He's trim and athletic and drop dead gorgeous, photos don't do him justice. This poor dog was trembling in fear in a rural shelter and needed someone to save him so we did. Phillip is all nose, he needs to sniff every single blade of grass in the yard. He's good natured but timid and will need some time to warm up. He's good with other dogs and needs a physically-fenced yard. If you'd like to meet Phillip, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Phillip at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care.
