Story
Please note that we are a TX based rescue that transports our dogs once they are adopted. ALL of our dogs reside in foster homes in TX. Our adoption application can be found at haydudeequine.org Pepper - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! I have an amazing tiger striped pattern in my coat and amber colored eyes!! My hairytage is Mountain Cur, and the beautiful swirling pattern of my coat is a genetic characteristic. My personality is sweet, sweet, sweet and I am very human oriented. I love giving and getting kisses and spending time with my hooman..Also, for a medium sized dog, I am a great snuggler!! I will wrap myself around my Foster Mum and delight in the attention!! I will stay there snuggling for as long as she has time! I walk well on leash and know how to sit and stay. I have great focus and pay attention really well. I am a people pleaser and will try to do whatever it takes to make my hooman happy!! At 2 years young and 50 pounds, I is fully growed...I could stand to gain a couple of more pounds, dependent on snack intake!! YUMMY!! I get on well with most all other doggies, unless they are aggressive toward me. I LOVE hoomans, don't know about cats since Foster Mum doesn't have any of the strange smelling little critters!! Mountain Curs are an American original dog and were bred as an all around help mate for the early settlers. The Mountain Cur is intelligent and courageous. The breed is known for it's athletic, svelte, agile, and muscular, medium-sized build. I will make a great action adventure type companion for those hikes in the wilderness and then a snuggle by the fireplace. If you are looking for a "dog of a different color", then look no further!! I am your gal!!

Story
TAFFY is a stunning young mixed breed girl looking for a home. Isn't her brindle coat gorgeous? Our best guess at breed is a mountain cur mix due to her brindle coat, but there are a number of other possibilities for that coat -- boxer, whippet, Plott hound to name a few. Taffy has a sweet, good natured personality. She's currently around 8 months old and 28 pounds. If she's not fully grown, she's very nearly so. She has an absolutely darling personality with a wonderful, friendly disposition. She's dog friendly and fine with cats. Taffy is a medium energy pup best suited to an active home where she gets regular exercise -- a home with a yard and a doggy playmate or with a runner/walker. When playtime is over, Taffy is very affectionate and loves human attention. She's still a puppy so she will need some training but she's already housebroken and good in her crate. Taffy is food motivated and intelligent so we think she'll be fun to train. If you'd like to meet Taffy, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter, or you can meet Taffy at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-3 at PetSmart Eastgate. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. Story
Meet Cherry 🍒 2 year old, Mixed breed, 30lbs, female Cherry came to us a few months ago after she was abandoned in a parking lot with cardboard box full of newborn pups. Luckily a Good Samaritan picked her up and got her to safety. She had 8 beautiful pups and she was such a good mommy. Now it’s her turn to find a forever home! She is on the submissive side and good with other dogs. She is house trained, although we do think she has never lived indoors with a family. We are working on her confidence and she will need a patient home. Cherry is very sweet and loves her belly rubbed. We believe she may be a Mountain Cur mix. Cherry is now current on vaccines, heart worm tested negative, spay, and microchipped. We are accepting applications at https://form.jotform.com/secondhandpaws/app

Story
Aldo was found on Lower Gratis Rd. in Jackson Township just east of Preble County Line Rd.  He had been sighted in the fields in that area for a couple weeks.  He was wearing a harness that was wrapped around his left front leg.  He was a very scared boy so he had to be trapped, but he was hungry so it didn't take long.  Other than an ear infection and irritated skin on his leg, he was a healthy boy.  He is super sweet.  He is crate trained, well behaved, and loves kids.  ##1646656##

Story
Are you looking for a dog who can do it all? Then I'm your pup - I love snuggling AND being active! My name is Neda. I was born in rescue and have loved being spoiled by my foster family for the last 4 months. I love everyone! My human foster family, my canine foster siblings, and even my cat friends! I do a great job of leaving the cats alone. I really love kids and I cuddle with my 9 year old foster sibling all the time. I'm an adventurous and playful girl but I just really like to be with my people. I know how to sit, sit before my food bowl is put down, and take treats gently. I'm working on stay and walking on a leash. I love to play outside and chew on all the sticks I can find. When it's time to settle down I really love to cuddle. I will come up to you and ask to get on your lap if you let me. I can keep you company while you watch Netflix or even play video games. I am a very sweet and smart girl that is looking for my perfect family. Adopt me today! Neda is spayed, microchipped and up to date on age appropriate vaccinations. Adoption fee is $250.  All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   May 30, 2023, 1:01 pm

Sissy is a sweet girl that is 1 year old and weighs 45 pounds.  She does well with cats.  She rides well in a car and walks well on a leash.  She is social and friendly with strangers.   She loves to be outside as much as she can, in the warm weather. If you have a backyard or even just a back deck she would be out there all day if she could. She loves to sleep and snuggle and is a very good listener to all things! She is a very good girl but can be bossy with other dogs. She enjoys being in the presence of herself and humans! If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting this baby, please fill out an application.
