Story

Archer came to our rescue after being picked up as a stray. He doesn’t know his front ankles aren’t ‘normal’ as he gets around just fine. This condition is Angular Limb Disorder and attempting surgeries to resolve could make his situation worse. While he wouldn’t be a great running companion he still loves going for walks and short jogs. Long or strenuous walks could make him sore, so his family would want to avoid that as he would go if asked. This handsome boy is a happy, outgoing, gentle soul. He loves humans of all sizes and ages. Being with his humans and getting attention is his very favorite thing. He lives with lots of other dogs and is fine with everyone unless they are nasty to him; he won’t be bullied by anyone. He is good around the cats in his foster home who are very dog savvy. Archer has excellent house manners and is crate trained. He is engaged with his humans and treat motivated so would do well with training. He already has great recall and will sit for treats. He loves going for rides and would be a great go-everywhere dog. Archer is fully vetted – current vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Story

Meet Sharon! This beautiful 2-year-old girl weighs 70 pounds and is ready to find her forever home. Sharon was found as a stray, and when her owner never came forward, she began her search for a family of her own. We think Sharon may be a Plott Hound/Great Pyrenees mix, but one thing we know for sure is that she's 100% lovable! She's house-trained, energetic, and loves playing in the water. She walks well on a leash, and her favorite way to spend the day is exploring walking trails. Sharon would love a home with another active dog, especially a confident canine companion who can help her continue coming out of her shell. She's ready for a family who will enjoy an active lifestyle and give her all the love she deserves! Kids 10+ would do great with Sharon. She's been spayed, microchipped, and made current on vaccines. She tested positive for heartworms and has started the slow-kill treatment, which means no down time or risky side effects for her. Stay tuned for more info and photos as we get to know Sharon! Fee $275, apply online if interested: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Story

Meet Saint – A True Survivor Ready for His Forever Home! Saint is a stunning Catahoula/Dutch Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his story. This handsome boy was rescued from a local shelter after being found all alone with a severely broken leg. He was in desperate need of medical care, and thanks to the quick action of Legacy Humane Society and the loving care of his foster family, Saint is now fully recovered and thriving! Now healed and full of life, Saint is ready for his next chapter—with a forever family who will love him as much as he’ll love them. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and fantastic with people and other dogs. (He hasn’t been cat-tested yet, but we’re happy to do so upon request.) Saint is an energetic, athletic pup who lives for playtime. He’s a fan of fetch, tug-of-war, and zoomies, so an active home (and maybe a playful canine sibling) would be perfect for this spirited guy. He plays hard and loves harder! âï¸ Vetting Info: • Neutered • Up to date on vaccinations • Microchipped • Heartworm negative DOB: 4/23/24 âï¸ Weight: 45 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a loyal, loving, and playful pup, Saint is waiting for you!
