Story

Nash was found wandering the streets of Arlington but no one came for him.  His shelter 'before' pictures are included, and it's hard to believe this is the same dog!  He went from malnourished, scared and shaking to outgoing and friendly within his first week of freedom. He was adopted by a wonderful family but over the last couple years their family dynamic has changed and they do not feel Nash is best suited in a home with babies/toddlers. He likes his toys and his snacks so in a home where little ones do not understand those boundaries, it’s not the best match for Nash. He does well with kids but we do recommend teenage or older because they can understand his boundaries.  Nash has turned out to be a very loving, affectionate boy, who is now both house trained and crate trained.  He takes treats gently.  He is doing great with basic training but is still working on manners and learning to walk on a leash.  Nash does well with dogs of all sizes although he would also be very happy as an only dog. Nash is heartworm negative, he has been neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and is ready for his forever home. Due to an injury on this tail that continued being re-injured due to his constant tail wagging, we did have to amputate it and now he has an adorable little nub that he is able to wag furiously! Our family adopted Rune. Her previous owner stated she was up to date, spayed & microchipped but he did not have any of her paperwork. She is a great dog and is very gentle with our cats and kids. She only barks when she hears people walking by. She doesn’t bark at strangers. She’s nice to everyone she meets. She will wait patiently by the back door to signal she needs to use the restroom. She likes to run and run so a yard with a big yard would be ideal. She likes those big bones from the pet store but doesn’t really use toys.

However, as she gets up in her years and my schedule gets busier it's felt cruel to pull her along. Wilma (aka Mama) is roughly 3 years old and came to us with two babies who have both been adopted. She exudes what a mom should be and is; Affectionate, always ready to nurture, protective of those she loves, and always down for a snuggle and hug. She has been great with little children and other dogs. She does need a minute to meet and greet other dogs, but once she’s warmed up she’s ready to play! Leashed trained on the right and great at walking and jogging, but be mindful of her wonderful hunting instinct. She will spot the squirrel and bird long before you have and will either stop, point and prepare to dash, or she will sit and stay seated unmoved by you as she is watching. Lulubelle is a sweet, patient, and calm dog and is very loving toward people. She is a very quiet dog, and though she can bark, she rarely does. Her favorite activities are chewing on her bone, playing with her doggie toys, and playing chase with other dogs. She also enjoys just spending time in the backyard to see what’s going on. She is very curious! We need to rehome Lulubelle because our living situation has changed recently. We now find that we am not able to give Lulubelle the amount of attention that she needs and deserves. Lulubelle gets along well with other dogs, but because she needs a lot of love and attention, we believe she will do best in a family where she is the only dog. She will do well in a family with kids or with adults who have time to give her a lot of love. She is very sweet and will certainly return your love!
