Why I'm rehousing:I got merlin when I was 18, still in college with an easy hour job. In the last year that changed significantly and I'm just not home enough to properly care for him. I'm relocating for work shortly and don't want to put him through a big move. Especially if I won't be there much to help him adjust.

Story
Our sweet boy is 10 years old, he’s a good dog but we have a one year old and we’re struggling to navigate life with both of them, especially as he ages. He is potty trained, but struggles when it rains and snows and needs help. I think he would do fine in a house or apartment. He’s getting older and he’s struggling on our hard wood floor as well. He’s loving but not a huge snuggler and not a great walker. He gets alot of exercise playing with our other dog and chasing the cat around.He’s always lived with another dog and cat and does fine but both he’s known since birth. I don’t think he would do well in a home that has previously had a male dog, I would be worried about him trying to mark.Would not recommend him around children. He may be fine, but he seems to get anxious around them. He’s never bit anyone and has a bubble, he likes his space.

Merle is an approximately 4-year-old German Shepherd who was recently returned to FRGSR after her owner developed medical issues that prevented him from continuing to care for her. According to her previous owner, Merle is a sweet, loyal girl who bonds closely with her person. She’s fairly independent but also loves relaxing on the couch, playing ball, and spending time with her favorite human. A few things we know about Merle: • House-trained and well-behaved indoors • Can be anxious during transitions and new situations • Needs continued work on leash manners and reactivity • Has a strong prey drive • Recently spent time at doggy daycare and was completely indifferent to the other dogs—no reactivity or issues! • May prefer a quieter home where she can build a strong bond with her person Merle also has a history of anal gland issues that have recently been managed successfully with added fiber in her diet. Merle is settling back into rescue, and we’ll continue to share updates as we get to know her better!

This is Doja, he does get along with other dogs, but would be best as an only dog. He is super sweet and loves to cuddle. Hes very vocal and loves low sniff walks. Doja loves kids!! He loves toys, is extremely food motivated. I am fostering him after he was taken out of an abusive home. Doja loves morning and night walks. He does best on a harness. I think he is about 7 years and pretty healthy.

Billy is a 7-year-old Mutt/German Shepherd Dog mix. We rescued him when he was a puppy before kids, but after two kids and two moves we are in a different phase of life. Billy deserves a family who will spend more time with him and give him more love and attention than we can.Billy is:• Gentle with kids and protective• High energy for his age• House trained• Neutered and microchipped• A graduate of dog obedience schoolHe’s a good dog with minimal bad habits. He still pulls on the leash, but he is a wonderful family companion.

Archer is the sweetest, most cuddly boy. We do not know his past, but it seems that he was abused as he is afraid of just about everything. Archer does not like most dry dog food, but loves homemade food (like the Farmers dog) and canned food. He has separation anxiety and would do best with someone who is going to be with him all day. He is very good with kids from babies to preteens, his best friend is a cat, and he loves to play with other dogs.
