Story
Wrigley is approaching 11 years of age and is a rescue dog (very mixed breed) that I have had for over 10.5 years of her life. When we adopted Wrigley in May of 2015, we were told that she was up from Alabama or Mississippi, and was adopted from PAWs in Chicago where we lived until 2018. Wrigley made the trip to Colorado with me and has been a wonderful companion for me through thick and thin - most notably through my ex wife and my divorce in 2023. Wrigley still has a ton of energy, loves going on walks and is a very caring, lovable girl. She is very well house trained, and does not need constant attention. Unfortunately while I was away and using a Rover dog sitter over the Thanksgiving holiday there was a biting incident with a 3 year old that should have been avoided (children were not to be present at the boarding). Given I have a 5 year old son that spends 50% of his time with me, I sadly would like to rehome Wrigley out of an abundance of caution, for no other reason than that.

Story
Willa is a sweet, smart dog. Good on a leash and well-behaved in the house. No chewing or destructive behaviors. Good with cats, older kids. She likes her beanbag chair, treats, and her daily walk. She goes to doggy daycare once a week where she does well. She's good in the car. However, she is protective with the house and growls at anyone coming in. She is skittish and fearful of new people. She doesn't like the vet to touch her. She needs more training and desensitization than I can give her given my long days and schedule. She has never bitten anyone, but I am concerned that she could out of fear. Strangely, she does great at doggie daycare. I can't take her hiking as she growls at people on the trail. She does warm up to guests in the house over time. I am hoping there is someone with experience working with these behaviors so she can live a long and happy life. She is not on medication. This may be a long shot, but I am hopeful. I just can't meet her needs anymore. Fee neg.

Story
Winston is an 8 year old mixed breed dog. He has a lot of energy and loves to run around and play. He loves toys and will grab one when he gets excited and zoom around with them. He is very sweet and likes to relax wherever his owner is. Winston does not do well on a leash and would be happy to have a nice backyard to run around throughout the day. He is very smart and knows basic commands. He can be trained with structure and patience. He needs a home with no other pets or small children. He is reactive to strangers in the home but will warm-up to them over time. He needs an experienced owner that knows how to handle intelligent, high-energy dogs.

Story
Earlier this year a stray dog got into my backyard and mated with my dog. On 29th March six pups were born. I have since rehomed two of them. This dog is one of the remaining four needing homes. She's very friendly. Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to spend with them that I would've wanted to. So, she isn't as socialized as I would have liked by this age. But, she just needs to get into a home and be given more attention. I know that she'll be a great dog once she gets settled into a new place.

Good with kids, Good with dogs, Needs special attention, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Nismo is a 12 year old puppy at heart. She is still so full of energy she loves to play she loves to be loved. She is a sweetheart of a dog. She has an allergy to chicken so must be fed anything that does not contain chicken. She has always lived with other dogs and has always gotten along with other dogs. However she has not been socialized in a couple years outside of her other dog at home so she may take a little to warm up to new dogs(unknown but listing just incase) looking for someone who can love this girl the way she deserves in her last years. She is healthy and no known medical issues outside of the allergy. This is a heartbreaking decision for me I have never had to do this with any of my dogs. We would love to stay in contact with anyone who accepts her and loves her in their home

Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Not good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
When I adopted Claire 12/24 she had been with Humane Colorado since puppyhood. At 1 1/2 years she began to adapt slowly to a home. She was making progress slowly but surely in an indoor setting. She is very loving and loyal. I had her for approximately 2 months and was working with a trainer. Claire is anxious and excitable. On a walk at the end of Feb. she managed to get away from me. She was on leash and attacked another dog. She is not vicious but had just begun training. She was taken by Animal Control and is now in imminent danger of being euthanized.
