Story
Gracie has been with our family for about 9 months now. We fostered her from a family that needed help and couldn’t care for her financially at the time. They never came back for her and we already have two other dogs and a cat in the home, so it’s a lot of animals in one home. Gracie is up to date on her shots and is spayed. She enjoys playing with her house mates and generally knows that the cat doesn’t want to play with her. Gracie enjoys cuddling and lots of love. She loves her daily walks and doesn’t miss a meal! A unique trait about Gracie is that she doesn’t typically bark if she’s alone. One of our other dogs barks so she will sometimes join in, but if she’s on her own, she doesn’t bark. Well, she’s generally a well mannered dog, she does get excited it needs to be reminded about behaving. Gracie loves being outside and regular walks. She’ll walk as long as you’re willing to go! She could use some help with her walking manners as she really loves to run instead of walk.

Zoey is the perfect companion for an active family or individual. Zoey is very smart, loves to be around people, and very animated when you talk to her. She will bond with the owner and follow them around everywhere. Zoey is completely potty trained. She knows her basic commands like sit, stay, and command “bed”. Zoey could do well with other dogs but will need slow introductions to build trust. She only barks to alert you when someone is at the door. She is a sweet, loving dog who is looking for her new home.

Story
Lily is a sweet, loving dog with boundless energy. She is a mixed breed with mostly pit bull and German shepherd. She enjoys long walks, the dog park, and meal time! When she meets you, she will jump up and give you a big kiss (whether you want it or not). Unfortunately, Lily's is also an anxious dog and is reactive to kids. She has worked with a couple trainers, but we haven't been able to get her to a place where we feel comfortable with her being around kids. For her first few years with us, this wasn't a problem--as we didn't have children and neither did our friends. Now, however, we have a kid and we're also around lots of people with kids. She also has reactivity to other dogs when she's on a leash, but get's along fine with them when she's not restrained. She's treat motivated and responds well to commands. We're hoping to find a comfortable and stress-free home for Lily, where she can fully relax and be the sweet dog we love.

When my ex and I got together we each had an older dog. A year after mine passed Selena entered the picture. We fostered her from the shelter only to find out a week later she belonged to someone and was returned. They dropped her back off days later. We then promised her she had found her forever home and took her back. She immediately bonded with my ex but the signs were there. Selena began to push out the other dog out, then me. She was my ex's protector. Our social lives suffered. Then we broke up. It made sense my ex leave with her dog (I think she was excited to rekindle their damaged relationship) and I keep Selena. It has felt like damage control ever since. Her aggression grows more erratic. It's only a matter of when, not if she snaps at people or other pets. I'd love to imagine a future where with enough time, money, and effort she's becomes the ideal family dog. I have little of the three to give right now, but she needs them immediately.

Millie was found abandoned as a puppy and was taken in by a loving family. She was with them for a year until they had some life changes and was no longer able to be cared for. She is crate trained, the biggest cuddle bug, loves hiking and swimming, and she will make an amazing best friend to any family. She is currently in foster care, but will need to be re-homed soon.
