Story
Orion is a 3 year old mutt. He and his brother Apollo were found on a highway when they were very small and I have cared for them since then. However, as siblings they constantly compete for dominance and end up fighting therefore they must be separated. Overall once Orion becomes accustomed to a person he is sweet but he is very large as well as nervous. He is a high energy dog who, with proper care and attention could be trained to work. He needs to be the only pet in his next home. He also needs to be trained to socialize with people better. Orion has anxiety when left on his own and to his own devices, will chew and claw everything around him. Deep down he is a loving and loyal animal and will thrive with an owner who can spare the time and attention to correct his behavior. We never meant to keep him or Apollo as long as we have but our family just isn't in a position where we can continue their upkeep for much longer. He just needs a fresh start. Please, someone give him a shot.

Story
This little cutie was being given away outside of Lowe’s with her siblings. We have been fostering her and her brother since she was 6 weeks old hoping to find her a home. She is extremely sweet, submissive, and people focused. She is up to date on her shots, gets along with our dogs, and would be an amazing addition a loving home. We were told she is a pointer/chihuahua/pit mix and the vet expects her to reach no more than 25 pounds.

Story
Roach is a young heeler mix rescue. He spent a large part of his puppyhood in a cage without proper socialization before we got him, so he needs some work getting used to public settings/new people. He does great with those coming into the house if they sit on the couch and meet him, but is wary in public. He is house trained, working on muzzle training, and his vocabulary expands quickly. He is great for nail trims, will give you his paw and sits still. Accustomed to having his teeth brushed. Very high energy, loves to play fetch, enjoys training. He has made great progress with leash manners. We are rehoming Roach due to career changes giving us very little time for his energy needs, and with maturity he has developed a strong prey drive towards my cat. He grew up around children, is gentle with them, but gets excitable/likes to chase, so may be better suited for older children. He is very affectionate, always wants to be near his people, knows many commands. Comes w/ bowls/bed/crate

Story
My boy is a very good boy. He was a pandemic puppy & I messed up and didn't socialize him enough. He had a few bad experiences & now is constantly anxious and untrusting of the world. We have moved a lot, and he has not had consistency. He needs someone with experience & can help fund fear aggression therapy. Because of his reactions, I have also taken him out less and less; he is not used to people other than a select few. I am sad to let him go, but he needs someone who can provide the stimulation he needs & get him the help he needs. He can sit, lay, paw, kiss, leave it, spin, get up, and get off. He is potty trained and will kiss you intensely to communicate he needs to go. He absolutely loves to run and must be with someone who is active. He craves a lot of stimulation and needs new scenery or interaction to fight boredom and depression. He loves to chase, be chased, play keep away, and tug-a-war. Very food motivated, great at non-verbal communication, and will love to be near you

Story
Fiona is likely 4 y/o and is mixed breed. She looks like a mini pitbull mix with a smaller stature. She is only 20lb right now and won't be more than 30lb when she has a healthy weight. She was found chained up outside and emaciated a few weeks ago in rural NC. It is unclear what her background it, but she has clearly had a neglected life. Despite this, she is such an angel. We adopted her from a rescue recently but learned that her prey drive is too high to be with cats, and we do not feel safe keeping her with our cats. She is very comfortable with dogs and also would be better suited for a home with another dog to support her in comfort and building confidence. Further, we just had a tragic loss in the family yesterday and are not able to give her to experienced support she needs right now. She is anxious but loving and needs patience and lots of care. We wish we could keep her!
