Story
We rescued Monrovia (Moe for short) from the Humane Society last year after hearing about the hoarding incident. Moe was not a vocal dog during our visit and allowed my husband and I to walk around with him at their facility. Upon bringing him home, we established a routine very early on and he adapted quickly with very few soiling accidents. He is very agile, athletic and loves to cuddle. With the right environment, he will be a great addition.. We think there is a better environment for him to thrive in, not to mention three of our family members have allergies that have only gotten worse since getting him.

Story
Roach is a young heeler mix that we rescued in September at 9 months old. In the time we have had him, he has come a very long way and has been quick to learn new things. He is great for nail trims, will give his paw and is used to a dremel. He gets his teeth brushed and does well with that, and is still and calm for baths. He is good in the car, and is getting more accustomed to going places. He was not socialized well as a puppy, so he is very shy with strangers, but I have been able to take him to PetSmart and to parks for walks and he has made progress. He used to bark at people while on leash, but he seems much more comfortable observing calmly now. He is not reactive to other dogs, we have been approached by barking dogs and he sits calmly. He has played well with some but I think it depends a lot on the other dog’s personality. We are rehoming him due to job changes that no longer give us time for his high energy levels, and he has become increasingly prey driven toward my cat.

Stella

Mutt

Female, 3 yrs 5 mos
Winston Salem, NC
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Stella was adopted from a rescue as a puppy. She is sweet, fun loving, and energetic. She is fully house trained, prong collar trained, and e-collar trained. She has lived with cats and visiting dogs her whole life, and loves to play. The reason for rehoming is due to moving. She has had fights with a smaller dog, so it’s my recommendation that Stella not be in a home with other dogs, unless they are bigger. She loves car rides, walks, and knows heel so she won’t pull you while walking. Stella is crate trained, however she’s used to roaming free around the house even when unattended for several hours at a time. She has no history of chewing/destroying household objects. Stella will alert bark at people at the door, or other dogs approaching the house. Stella would be a great companion in a home with adults and older children, and needs plenty of space to run, play fetch, and sniff. The fee is to ensure a serious adopter, and will include lots of supplies/food to transition.

Story
We adopted Arizona in late january from a local shelter, so she’s microchipped, spayed, and UTD on shots. Though her and our older dog got along well at first, the tension has risen in the household and they just cannot seem to work it out even through slow socialization on and off neutral grounds. i think she’s maybe just a bit too much for our 8 year old rescue pittie, she has a few triggers from her life before us. so to avoid anyone getting hurt or suffering from being separated from the family i’d like to explore other options for arizona. arizona, previously “pearl” at the shelter, was a stray that was picked up as a puppy. sadly, she spent the next few months in the shelter with little to no interest. arizona was on the euthanasia list the week we adopted her, she deserves so much more than that. she loves to fetch, she loves to run, and she loves to play. she’s such a sweet, rambunctious, funny girl with a BIG personality to match. she’s so eager to explore and make pals!

Story
Honey is an absolute treasure of a dog. He is smart, loving, and kind to every person and animal he sees. We adopted Honey from a foster family as a puppy where he spent his time with several other cats and dogs. We have personally witnessed him with other dogs, children, and babies. He also lives at home with a one year old he’s been around since birth. He is crate trained and house trained as well. We are seeking a loving forever home for Honey as we are relocating and will not be able to keep him when we move in July. His ideal home would be with a family with lots of space to run around outside and other dogs to play with to help him get his energy out. He is an absolute goofball but the best kind. Possible dealbreaker is that Honey LOVES to play in dirt. We are willing to meet interested families in person so you can meet Honey before you adopt.

Story
Sparrow will be 3 years old this coming August and still likes to chew toys and bones. He is crate trained and rarely has accidents however if indoors and not in his crate, you will need to let him out frequently. He knows how to "sit". He is very playful and would do best with a family that has a large fenced in yard. Since he is large and young, he is very rambunctious and would not be a good fit for someone with young children. He is strong and pulls when walked on a leash, so will need additional training. He has lived with cats and dogs, and likes to play with them. He is smart and very sweet - sometimes not realizing he is too big to be a lap dog. We would keep him except we have to move to a new location that will not accept pets of his size.
