Loki is a lovable, energetic dog looking for a family who can give him the attention and adventure he craves. With a new baby, we've realized he deserves more time and activity than we can currently offer. Loki loves hiking, pets, and gets the biggest zoomies when he finds sand. He's incredibly affectionate and does best as the center of attention — he'd thrive as an only pet, with a family who wants to make him a priority. He's been great with our 2-year-old and interacts well with older kids too. Loki is a bit of a goofball — he'll bump into things or scramble, which always gets a laugh. He does best in a calmer household, with patient owners who understand he can be reactive to other dogs on leash and gets some separation anxiety (he just loves his people!). Loud noises can spook him, so a low-key, steady environment will help. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion who will stick by your side, Loki could be your perfect match.

Looking for an affectionate boy who will offer hugs? You've found your match with Finn. He approaches all people with interest and love, offering hugs and kisses to everyone and anyone who will accept them. He adores toys including chewing bones, squeaky balls for fetch, and can extract a squeaker from a plushy in record time. He is a go with the flow kind of dog, assimilating to the days plans with ease. Whether it’s a day for a hike or a day to vegetate on the couch, he is happy just as long as he is with his human(s). Finn is trained to sit, stay, come, lay down, and paw. He received training in a formalized setting at a young age. He is very receptive to ongoing training and learning, as he loves to follow commands when prompted to. He is crate trained, house trainined, and very good on leash. He is from a multi-pet household, however we will only be adopting to a single pet household due to history of resource guarding. Also to note, he has a history of medication use for anxiety.

Peter is a deaf, still highly energetic 12 year old dog. He is trained with some hand signs, and is highly food motivated.He loves blankets, beds and to be tucked in, or wrapped up in a blanket. He will fall asleep in the middle or anywhere on the floor, being deaf he sleeps a lot.I connected with an animal communicator and they told me Peter would prefer to live with a dog that is his size, and someone with a "grandpa, grandma" vibe, someone who is able to be home with him more often.He has lived with a small dog, and a cat. He does need another animal companion, it will take a while for him to warm up to another dog/cat.He is not able to be in a creat due to his separation anxiety. He has made a lot of progress with being dog reactive on his walks, but I'm unsure of how introducing him to new animals will go.I've owned him for ten years, and unfortunately my next residential spot is unfit for him for his developing senior care needs.

Millie is a 2 year old super mut who was adopted from Montana. They told us she was likely born in the wild. She is the sweetest girl. Loves people and great with small children. Never bitten anyone. Loves to play and has the zoomies a lot. She has cattle dog in her and needs a home where she has land or a large yard where she can run/roam when she’s not out on walks or at the park. She lives for fetch. She will play for hours! She is an escape artist and will slip out the front door to run. Not run away but just run. She needs a home where she can run all day long at her leisure and not just a couple walks a day. She is not hypoallergenic as she sheds. My child is very sensitive to the dander.

Meet Wendy: 3 years old, spayed, vaccinated, and 100% good girl!Her DNA test found 17 breeds — Lab, AmStaff, Pit Bull, Cocker Spaniel & Rottweiler lead the pack, with cameos from Chow Chow, Poodle, Chihuahua, and even Kenyan Street Dog (?!). She's an energetic lap dog, marathon walker, devoted copilot, and world-class cuddler. She naps ON you, not near you. Currently rocking 30 lbs with a vet-approved goal of 25 — she's on a wellness journey and could use a cheerleader. She's potty trained but the dog door baffles her so she'd love a patient human to help with a treats-and-practice refresher.Wendy was her senior owner's devoted companion until they moved into a nursing home — but our dog-and-cat crew isn't the right fit for her. She has always been an only pet and guards her treasures around other animals, so she needs a home with no other pets. She wants to be your one and only — and she'll repay you with endless love and affection.

Welcome Maverick to CCPAL Foster Program. Maverick is a 4-year-old Chiweenie. He weighs about 19 pounds. He is good on a leash, good in a car. He is potty trained and very loyal to his person. He knows “go for a walk”, “stop”, “leave it”, “It’s the neighbor” and a few other commands. He is in a home and the owner is having some very big financial issues and need to find Maverick a new home. Maverick has some allergies to food and the food that he can is a Duck and Potato kibble. He has some allergies to grass. He has take Apoquel successfully to handle the allergies. He warms up slowly and is very loyal and bonded once he has bonded. He would be great for a senior couple or single wanting a companion. A nice yard for him to get exercise in would be nice or someone that could have the time to take him on a couple of walks would be great. He isn’t the social butterfly that some dogs are so a matching owner would be the best fit. He would be a great dog to alert you to someone at the door or something being off in the environment. He is good on walks and would help a senior be more active. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. He could go with children but we would like them to be teens. I think a quieter home would be best for this boy. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Welcome Toby to CCPAL Rescue. Toby is a 6-year old Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix). Toby lost his owner in death and the immediate family live on a farm with farm animals. They worry about his safety with those animals so they turned him over along with another dog for rehoming. We are happy to have Toby. He is outgoing, good on a leash, good with people including strangers. He weighs 13 pounds and is potty trained. He is learning to be crated and is a lovely dog. He will be with us while we look for his new forever home. He is neutered and will get all his vaccines all current while he awaits his new family to fall in love with his photo and video online. He is good with other dogs and would be fine with another dog or as an only dog. He is here in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washinton, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Meet Pez! 12 pounds of personality, a whole lot of love, and a Belgian Malinois trapped in a Chiweenie’s body! Hi, my name is Pez! I’m a 1 1/2 year-old Chihuahua mix weighing in at a whopping 12 pounds! I may have some daschund in there as well. That might make me a Chiweenie. I may be small, but don’t let my size fool you. I have a BIG personality, an even bigger heart, and enough charm to win over just about anyone! I absolutely LOVE people! I’m friendly with everyone I meet, and once I decide you’re my person, congratulations—you’ve just acquired yourself a permanent little shadow! I’m what they call a Velcro dog. Wherever you go, I’ll happily tag along. After all, life is better when we’re together! Now, let me tell you a little about how I ended up here because it’s quite the story! I was discovered hiding underneath an abandoned house by some sheriff’s deputies who were training their K9s. Naturally, I thought this was my big break! I was ready to join the force, chase bad guys, and become the world’s smallest police dog. Unfortunately, nobody seemed interested in recruiting a 12-pound Chihuahua. Their loss! At least I got to hang out with all the big, tough working dogs that day. Between you and me, I’m pretty sure I’m a Belgian Malinois trapped in a Chihuahua’s body! Speaking of big dogs, I LOVE them! I currently live in a foster home with multiple large dogs, and we get along wonderfully. I’m all about making doggy friends, and I would be thrilled to have a furry sibling or two in my forever home. Size doesn’t intimidate me one bit! I’m also a pretty impressive little houseguest. I’m house trained, crate trained, and walk nicely on a leash. I love going for walks, exploring new places, running errands with my humans, and riding in the car. When I see my tiny harness come out, I’m ready to roll! Adventure awaits, people! At home, I enjoy romping around the backyard and playing with my foster siblings. And TOYS! Oh my goodness, do I love toys! Balls, squeaky toys, stuffed animals—you name it, I want it. If you’re wondering whether I need my own toy basket, the answer is absolutely YES. Preferably a big one! My foster family also says I may have been a circus acrobat in a previous life. Apparently, I’m quite the agile little fellow! I’m clever, athletic, and always ready to show off my moves. I’m also highly food motivated, which makes learning new things even more fun. Will work for treats! But don’t let my playful side fool you. When the adventures are over, I’m all about the snuggles. There’s nothing better than curling up next to my favorite humans or piling onto the couch with my doggy friends. I can go from tiny acrobat to professional couch potato in record time! I’m neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. All that’s missing is a family to call my very own. So, what do you say?
