Eddie was adopted as a puppy and spent years in a loving home. Sadly, through no fault of his own, he found himself back at the rescue and is now hoping to find the forever home he truly deserves. This little guy loves the simple things in life—curling up beside you on the couch, soaking up snuggles, and being your loyal companion. He walks beautifully on a leash without reacting to other dogs or people, enjoys playing fetch (he's still perfecting the "bring it back" part!), rides wonderfully in the car, is potty trained, and happily uses a doggy door. Eddie also gets along well with other dogs and has successfully lived with a cat. Eddie previously shared a quiet home with an elderly woman, where it was just the two of them. Because of that, he truly thrives as a devoted one-on-one companion. He forms deep bonds with his person and naturally sees himself as their little guardian. He takes a little time to warm up to new people, and even after he's comfortable, he may still feel the need to look out for the person he loves. Eddie's ideal home would be with a single woman who works from home or is retired and is looking for a faithful little shadow to share life with. He'll need someone who understands that trust takes time and is willing to give him the patience, consistency, and love he deserves. Once you've earned Eddie's trust, you'll have a devoted best friend who will fill your days with companionship, loyalty, and all the unconditional love his little heart has to give. ❤️

8/1/26 - Found in Apple Valley in the vicinity of Hwy 18 and Rancherias Rd. No microchip. Per finder, very friendly and loves children. LM ***** AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION 8/7/26 ***** Intact female ~10 yrs old 20 pounds Vaccines given 8-1-26 No microchip ALT ID# 8-1-26 2 8/7/26 during intake eval: very nice, anxious, needs senior TLC, needs dental work done, ask staff about medical notes *****Animals are eligible for adoption by the public after their stray hold period. Rescues are permitted to pull on 8/7/26; animal is also legally available for euthanasia on this same date. AVAS will continue to follow the protocols in place for the health/safety of the animals in our care. The canine population currently in our care that are not showing symptoms will be posted on our website for public viewing. Canines will continue to be monitored by our medical staff under the direction of our supervising Veterinarian.
