Halsey is estimated to be about 4 years old and weighs approximately 65 pounds. She came to us from a shelter in South Carolina, and while we may never know everything she has experienced before arriving here, it is clear that she is a very special girl who deserves a chance to finally know what it feels like to be safe, loved, and home. Halsey is what you might call a stoic girl. She carries herself with a calm, steady presence and doesn't seem to ask for much. She isn't the type to demand attention or make a fuss. Instead, she quietly takes everything in and seems grateful for the simple things a comfortable place to rest, a kind person nearby, a tasty treat, and the reassurance that she is safe. But don't let her calm exterior fool you. Halsey is incredibly sweet and loving. Once she knows you, she has a wonderful way of showing her affection and enjoys being close to her people. There is something especially touching about a dog like Halsey, who has such a quiet way of loving but such a big heart. Halsey is also dog friendly and enjoys having canine company. She does, however, prefer dogs who are more laid-back and respectful of her calm nature. She isn't looking for a wild, nonstop wrestling partner. A mellow canine companion who understands personal space and enjoys simply sharing a home would likely be a wonderful match for her. She is doing well with both house training and crate training, which is another reason this lovely girl is ready to settle into a home of her own. Halsey is learning that life can be predictable, comfortable, and filled with good things. And speaking of good things, Halsey has discovered that treats are definitely one of the best parts of life. She is more than happy to accept a tasty snack and will gladly let you know that treats are always appreciated. Her beautiful brindle coat only adds to her charm, but it is Halsey's personality that will truly win you over. She is sweet without being demanding, loving without being overwhelming, and calm in a way that makes her an incredibly peaceful companion. Halsey seems to have the kind of soul that has learned to simply keep going. She doesn't ask for much, but she deserves so much more than simply getting by.
