You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mika arrived from Puerto Rico with her travel companions, and we are delighted to have this bundle of happiness. Mika is a Sato dog which is a street or beach dog from Puerto Rico. The Sato refers to a variety of small to medium-sized stray dog. Satos are similar in appearance to small Pointers or Terriers. These free-ranging dogs are known to make excellent family pets. Unlike other feral dogs, the Satos have a small territory, and many are always in contact with people. Mika was referred to as a Labrador/Plott Hound mix by the veterinarians who vetted her in Puerto Rico. Whatever she is, she sure is sweet. Mika is described by the folks who cared for her at Punta Santiago who rescued her as "amazing with dogs of all sizes, super people friendly, and having no food aggression." She is very happy and friendly and will make a perfect lap dog for some lucky family. Mika is approximately a year old and cat tolerant with supervision. We are looking for an adoptive family or foster home. Xena is a 3-year-old Plott Hound mix weighing 52 pounds. A delightful girl, she came to us from a family who didnâÂÂt want her or her ten puppy litter. How sad! But of course thatâÂÂs where we came in. XenaâÂÂs foster says she is sweet, affectionate, playful, great with other dogs and very food motivated. (Better keep a box of bones around the house!) This girl who has been treated for heartworm would make a great addition to your family! She survived the shelter when her brother and sister heartbreakingly did not, and she’s determined to make her second chance count. Despite her rough start, Clara is pure sunshine — social, happy, and instantly in love with every person and dog she meets. She’s an adventurer at heart, always ready to explore, run in the yard, or proudly parade around with her favorite chew toy. Keeping busy makes her happiest.
