Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mika arrived from Puerto Rico with her travel companions, and we are delighted to have this bundle of happiness.   Mika is a Sato dog which is a street or beach dog from Puerto Rico. The Sato refers to a variety of small to medium-sized stray dog. Satos are similar in appearance to small Pointers or Terriers. These free-ranging dogs are known to make excellent family pets. Unlike other feral dogs, the Satos have a small territory, and many are always in contact with people.  Mika was referred to as a Labrador/Plott Hound mix by the veterinarians who vetted her in Puerto Rico. Whatever she is, she sure is sweet. Mika is described by the folks who cared for her at Punta Santiago who rescued her as "amazing with dogs of all sizes, super people friendly, and having no food aggression." She is very happy and friendly and will make a perfect lap dog for some lucky family. Mika is approximately a year old and cat tolerant with supervision. We are looking for an adoptive family or foster home. Mika's adoption fee is $500.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 26, 2024, 5:48 pm

Story
Jake from Philly (Roxborough)! 3-4 year old pittie male, fixed, UTD, house, leash, and crate trained to a great home *yard preferable* You can have his crate, toys, etc. His story: I adopted Jake from ACCT 5 weeks ago. He was found wandering West Philly, malnourished and had been abused. I suspect he was used in dog fighting based on his scars and spent a lot of time on concrete. In the last 5 weeks, he has responded well to training. He is highly food motivated and has gained 5lbs! He is now house, leash, and crate trained with a lot of energy (I think he’s younger than 4). Jake struggles with resource guarding and has been aggressive toward my other dog twice over food/toys. Rescues will not take him due to the aggression. ACCT said they would euthanize if I surrendered him. Jake loves to snuggle with his person. His life is important and he is a very affectionate, sweet boy. He deserves an experienced, confident owner with a yard.

Story
Meet Banjo! Banjo is a 5 year old Plott Hound mix weighing about 65 pounds. He is a beautiful boy with his brindle coat and white chest and markings and he has the most expressive face. Banjo is a sweetheart and a fragile soul that likes to be told he is a good boy and he just wants to please. Banjo loves to be active and is a high energy dog. He enjoys walks, hikes, car rides, and playing. Most of all, Banjo enjoys cuddling with his people on the couch. Banjo struggles with confidence and anxiety issues, but has been working on these things with a trainer and will do wonderfully in the right home while continuing his hard work and with an adopter that is knowledgeable with anxious dogs. Banjo is reactive to new situations and he is learning to come out of his shell and be more engaged in the world and not so selective and nervous around strangers. Banjo is also very food motivated! Banjo is well versed in obedience training and knows sit, crawl, down, stay, bed, speak, and roll over. He is muzzle trained, house trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. Banjo will not chew on bones or play with toys and his fosters are working on getting him to learn what toys are. Banjo would be best in a home with a single person or couple. Banjo gets along with other dogs when introduced slowly, he will play with them, and could do well in a home with multiple dogs but needs the proper iand slow introduction with an experinced dog owner. Banjo would prefer a home with no children and likes women more than men. Banjo requires a fenced in yard and an active adopter. If you are interested in adopting Banjo, please go to our website at charliescrusaders.org and fill out our adoption application.  ##386437##

Story
Meet Fable: Fable is a 9 month old (as of February 2024) plott hound mix (best guess) that weighs 36 pounds. This rootin tootin cowboy litter of 3 (Farley, Farris and Fable) are sure to steal some hearts! These cuties were found abandoned in a rural area and luckily made it to our rescue. Fable is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Fable is a sweet, playful handsome boy that is looking for his very own family! To put it simply, Fable is a big love bug! He just wants to be with his person and that’s what makes him happiest! Fable loves playing with toys and exploring around the dog yard. In the play yard he avoids rough play with the other foster dogs and likes to hang with the easy going ones. Fable has a gentle spirit and lots of love to give! Fable is working on his house training. We would love for Fable to have a home with a fenced in yard for him to run and play freely! Fable is up to date on his shots and neutered. If you are interested in adopting this cute cowboy, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. ##1807994##

Story
Wade, Weston and Warren are 15-week-old mixes of Plott Hound and Lab! They were found in the woods and a Good Samaritan rescued them and took them to safety. They weigh 9-14 puppy pounds now and should mature to around 45 pounds. These boys are so cuddly and so loving! They love being around people and other dogs, and even do well with cats! Wade wears a short red/brown and white coat while Weston and Warren wear short brown and white coats with a brindle pattern! These pups have great temperaments and are ready to be in their family’s arms! Won’t you adopt one of these precious babies? (ME, 2/16/24)     **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $395 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  March 25, 2024, 8:46 pm
