Meet Elias! Elias is a 6-month-old sweetheart who is quickly learning just how good life can be. He is a true human shadow and loves nothing more than being close to his people. Elias is happiest when he’s part of whatever his family is doing. As he settles into foster life, his playful puppy personality is starting to shine more and more. He is generally low to medium energy, walks well on a leash, is potty trained and crate trained, and has done well with both children and cats. Elias also enjoys other dogs, although he is still learning appropriate puppy manners. He can sometimes get overly excited during interactions and nip at another dog’s skin in an attempt to engage, so he’ll benefit from a family who can continue helping him learn how to play appropriately and respect other dogs’ boundaries. More than anything, Elias is incredibly sweet. Each day, he seems a little more comfortable trusting the people around him and realizing that humans can be kind, patient, and safe. His tail is wagging more and more every day, and watching his confidence grow has been such a special treat. Elias would love a home where he can continue learning, spend plenty of time with his people, and finally have a family to shadow. Anubis is a 2–3 year-old Plott Hound mix who was pulled from Animal Care & Control just in time, with his euthanasia deadline quickly approaching. This scared boy has a huge heart, and since coming into rescue, he’s been working hard to learn that the world can be a safe place. Anubis is a sweet, sensitive dog who needs someone willing to give him the time and patience he deserves. He can be fearful and lacks confidence, which means he does have a bite risk when he feels scared or overwhelmed. Because of this, we are looking for an experienced adopter who understands fearful dogs and is committed to continuing his training and building his confidence. The good news? Anubis is making incredible progress every single day. As he gets more comfortable and learns to trust, his sweet personality shines through. Once Anubis trusts you, he is truly the sweetest boy and will happily show you just how much love he has to give. Anubis is crate trained, house trained, and leash trained. He is dog friendly with the right introductions and does best when given time to properly meet and feel comfortable with another dog. His cat compatibility is currently unknown. NO KIDS! Honestly, I’m shocked at how naturally he has settled in, especially considering what his life was like before he found this community. It’s a really special thing to see him experiencing all of these simple things and thriving.•Great car rider, you forget he is even in the car with you. Requiring to be lifted into the car but is becoming brave enough to jump out with a little patience.•Not too interested in treats right now, doesn’t know any commands yet, but listens to ‘no’ and ‘come’ (sometimes). He is learning new things very quickly. •No resource guarding. Extremely gentle.•Does not pull on the leash, very easy to walk. •Hasn’t tried to mark (pee on) anything inside or outside, he squats when he pees. •Loves everyone he meets-kid and dog friendly. •Has not had a single accident in the house or overnight in his crate. •Settled in his crate after about 5 minutes of a little whining.
