You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. Story
Barney is a very handsome 1.5 yo, 75 lb Plott hound/lab mix who is a sweet, goofy boy, and loves playing with his friend Blaze and other dogs at the farm. He also loves nothing more than an ear massage and belly rub. We have found he is a sensitive boy and doesn't like thunder:( Barney's ideal family would have an active life style and be home most of the day, a canine buddy with an equal energy level, and preferably a fenced yard. Barney needs continued training and someone familiar with the hound breed. In our boarding facility, it is not possible to test him with cats or children, so slow introductions would be necessary. You can come meet Barney in Union Bridge, MD!

Story
Introducing the blonde beauty, Carina! Carina is one of the precious Star Squad cuties who is currently hanging out in boarding while she waits for her perfect forever (or foster!) home. While we prefer that our cuties are fostered in homes to learn about being a part of a family, where she is being boarded she is getting to play, run, meet new people and learn how to make new friends! At only 8 months old, she is still growing into an amazing dog and deserves the perfect home to do that in! This blonde brindle is about 45lbs, and will stay medium-sized! She is a plotthound/shepherd mix that has stunning caramel eyes. She loves to rest her head in her human friends’ hands and lock eyes. Carina is sweet and loving and prefers to hang out with men! She loves to give snuggles and play with other pups and older kids. Carina is looking for a patient home that understands that she might be a little nervous at first, but she will make it worth it when she learns that they’re her people! She is eager to learn, does well when crated while her people are away, and is working on leash training. Her perfect homie must have a fenced in yard and enjoy spending time out back with her! She loves to hang out outside, but only if her people are there with her. If you’re looking for a gentle girl with a lot of love to give, and don’t mind waiting a little for her real personality to show - carina is your girl! If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN PENNSYLVANIA AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama, Pennsylvania and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!

Story
Meet Goose – the handsome, 10 month old, Plott Hound mix, who is quite an interesting guy.  The breed itself, is the official State Dog of North Carolina and what an honor!  In one North Carolina county there are two Plott Hounds that are Commissioned Deputies.  To be honest we can’t say that Goose is a Barney Fife, because this boy is extremely intelligent, loyal, calm and affectionate.  Our handsome Goose loves the outdoors and is open for any adventure or hiking trail that you want to conquer.  His owner moved and unfortunately the landlord said; “no dogs”, so it was NO GOOSE.  He is in a loving foster home right now, but he needs a safe haven of his own to call home.  Goose is excellent with children, very trustworthy, and is a great and loving family companion.  He is still a baby (under a year) and looking for that family to grow up with.  Goose has been neutered, UTD on all shots, HW prevention and microchipped.  He weighs roughly 45 pounds, and still has some growing to do and probably another 10 pounds will be the additional weight.  Wait until you meet him in person – his pictures do not do him justice as his coat is stunningly rippled with the unique brindle coloring that everyone’s eye is drawn to when in a crowd.  He is a standout in every way as a dog and as a wonderful personality.  If you are interested please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   Tell us where you live please.   PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 29, 2023, 8:33 am
