Story
Sensitive souls like Frankie are one of a kind. They are extremely loyal and trust their humans completely. They are wary of strangers, however, and will require a bit of time to feel totally comfortable with them. Once you're in their circle of trust, you are a friend for life! This 3-4 year old 55lbs medium energy good boy sports a beautiful brindle coat with white patches and stripes decorating in strategic spots to give me my unique look. He walks beautifully on the leash, is potty and crate trained. Frankie LOVES walks and would be the perfect companion for anyone looking for a walking buddy or hiking friend. He equally loves to snuggle up on the couch and enjoy the quiet moments in life. He is quite adaptable, but would prefer quiet homes without lots of comings and goings. The city setting with loud noises and busy streets prove to be too hectic and stressful for him. Life in the suburbs (especially with a backyard) is more his vibe. Frankie is very dog friendly. When it comes to humans, it takes him a bit to warm up. He is a little cautious of strangers but is not above bribing. He just needs people to greet him respectfully and not invade his space. If you live in a quiet neighborhood in DC/MD/NoVa and are looking for your next partner in crime, Frankie will happily be your ride or die! Just fill out an application for him via the link below to begin the process: https://forms.gle/or8PCrfNVhSjanNj9

*** COURTESY POST ONLY *** Watch her IG video to see what a smart girl Ginnie is!https://www.instagram.com/p/DOo2XkZEU-j/.From Toby's Rescue: This sweet girl, Ginnie, has been living her best life for the last couple of months with her amazing foster parents, Laura and JT. But when they set off for their honeymoon last month, we thought… what better time for Ginny to enjoy a little princess polishing at Premier training? Ginny is playful, happy, and full of love and like any energetic young lady, she wanted some manners training to match her royal charm. Thanks to the incredible team at Premier Training, Ginnie is now an expert at her royal manners and has perfected her sit, stay, place, leave it and walking daintily on a leash. Her trainer said she is such a good girl and wants more than anything to please her people. Ginnie came to us when we said yes to taking Ginnie when she had two options: leave the shelter with a rescue or with her last breath. We scooped her up and got her settled with Laura and JT and she has been bringing smiles and laughter to them ever since. Now she has finished her finishing school, she is ready for her forever home. She’s 11 months old, 42 lbs of pure charm, crate trained, toy-obsessed, and always ready for zoomies followed by snuggles. Story
This dog is not a Tasca's Love Dog. The contact information for his rescue organization is at the link at the end of his bio. We had the pleasure of meeting the cutest, friendliest, 4 month old, 24lbs Hound Mix puppy this weekend. He was so impressive we asked his foster if we could share him on our rescue page! There is no reason at all that this pup hasn’t been snatched! Meet Gatsby, the most social, fun loving pup ever :) An enthusiastic greeter of people (including kids) of all ages, genders and sizes with full on butt wiggle action, and side to side swaying as a puppy should be :) Same goes for other dogs. His foster notes he has no resource guarding issues with humans or dogs. He is getting better on the leash, learning good manners and showing off his new learned commands; he knows come, sit, stay, down, and crate. He loves to fetch, and loves to play with his humans. And this little munchkin is a professional cuddle, especially after he gets up from a nap, he wants to be close to his humans and bring them his toys :) His crate is his safe spot and sleeps in it through the night. To call him a professional nap-taker, is pretty spot on, this boy needs his beauty sleep several times a day. His foster says he’s getting really good at the house-training routine, but of course given his age it’s not fair to expect him to hold it for too long. He’s never left roaming unsupervised because he’s too little and just like any puppy can get himself in trouble :) He doesn’t have a known noise aversion and doesn’t mind being given a bath. He has an alert bark worthy of the big boy he’ll become, and will let you know when he’s anxious, bored or even want to go to the bathroom, you just need to learn his cues. Gatsby will greatly benefit from continued training especially when it comes to him being mouthy. With consistent positive training and patience, this pup will be the best companion any family could ask for. If you are interested in adopting Gatsby, please complete his rescue’s Adoption Questionnaire found at this link bit.ly/adoptaluckydog

If you’re looking for a joyful, affectionate companion who brings both fun and heart to every day, Ernest might just be your perfect match. This energetic, curious, and endlessly playful pup is full of personality and even more full of love. Ernest thrives on connection. Whether he’s making new dog friends, greeting strangers like old pals, or happily people-watching at a coffee shop, he approaches life with enthusiasm and friendliness. He especially loves playing with other dogs and would happily spend hours running, romping, and socializing. Ernest also has a wonderfully affectionate side - after a good walk or play session, he transforms into a total cuddle bug who just wants to curl up beside you (and maybe sneak in a few kisses, too). One of the things that makes Ernest truly special is how deeply he bonds with his people. His excitement when seeing familiar faces is pure, heart-melting joy. He’s the kind of dog who will greet you like you’re the best part of his day, every single day. At home, Ernest is crate trained and does well with structure. He sleeps soundly through the night and settles nicely after he’s had enough exercise. He’s very food motivated and already knows several commands like sit, stay, come, and even high five! With continued consistency, he’s sure to keep impressing. Ernest would thrive in an active home that can match his zest for life - daily walks, trips to the dog park, or even hikes would make him incredibly happy. He’d love a canine companion who enjoys playtime as much as he does, but he could also do well as a solo dog with plenty of opportunities to socialize. He can live in an apartment or house, as long as his exercise needs are met. A few of Ernest’s adorable habits? When he’s completely worn out, he does an adorable full-body “Ernie flop,” stretching out in the most dramatic and endearing way. He also loves car rides (often snoozing the whole way), chew toys, and enrichment activities like puzzles and lick mats. Ernest is still a young pup at heart - full of playfulness, curiosity, and affection - and he’s ready to bring that big, loving spirit into his forever home. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will keep you active, make you laugh, and then snuggle up close at the end of the day, this handsome brindle boy is ready to meet you. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training.
