Story
I got Willow from the shelter. She was all beat up at the shelter. She is all healed and shows no signs of scars. The shelter told me she would be best as a one dog pet. So I listened to them about her being a one dog pet. I do admit I have spoiled her. She has her own bed but still tries to cuttle and sleep in my bed. She is a very affectionate dog. She has a squeaky toy she plays with for 15 min max a day. She loves fresh water. She really likes drinking out of cups. She has beautiful teeth. She can't handle long car rides she will vomit. She is a healthy dog and she has a sensitive stomach. She has done really good with the kibble called whole hearted with grains lamb and brown rice. Also, I did not socialize her a lot. The shelter said she should not be around small kids. I have noticed she likes to jump on them and is to rough with them for some reason. She likes to eat sticks and I keep pulling them out of her mouth so she don't hurt her stomach. I work full time and need help!

Story
Hi, I'm Ember!!! My story started on the streets of Roswell, New Mexico, where I was found as a stray. Since then, I've traded uncertainty for safety, love, training, and an incredible foster family. What I haven't found yet is my forever home. I've spent over 1,150 days waiting. At this point, I've watched puppies get adopted. I've watched senior dogs get adopted. I've watched dogs arrive after me and leave before me. And while I'm happy for them, I think it's finally my turn. I'm 3.5 years old, house-trained, spayed, up-to-date on my vaccines, and well past the puppy chaos phase. These days, I'd much rather spend my time playing fetch, going for walks, learning new things, snuggling on the couch, and hanging out with my favorite humans. I'm smart, goofy, affectionate, and incredibly loyal to the people I love. I've worked with trainers, know my basic commands, and genuinely enjoy having a job to do. Like many thoughtful souls, I prefer introductions over surprises. New people can make me a little nervous at first, so I appreciate being given time and space to get comfortable. Once I do, my sweet personality starts to shine. My ideal home is an adult-only household that will continue giving me the structure, patience, exercise, and love I deserve. I may be happiest as your one-and-only dog, but I could also do well with the right canine companion and a thoughtful introduction. What I promise in return is simple: Unwavering loyalty. A built-in adventure buddy. A professional fetch enthusiast. A world-class cuddler. And a best friend who will love you with her whole heart. I've already spent over 1,150 days waiting. Maybe you're the reason the wait was worth it. Ember ##1703938##

Story
Layka is a delightful young female mixed breed  born August 27, 2021, weighing 50 pounds.  Layka a zest for life and an infectious enthusiasm that will brighten any home. Born with a naturally happy and outgoing personality, Layka thrives on adventure and loves the thrill of exploring new places. Her playful spirit and love for cuddles make her an ideal companion for families who enjoy an active lifestyle and plenty of affection. Layka is best suited for a household where she can be the only dog, allowing her to soak up all the love and attention she deserves. While she is naturally joyful and affectionate, Layka will benefit from socialization and training to help her adjust to her new environment and become the best version of herself. Our In-Home Experience with the Lovely Layka Layka is a delightful and silly girl who will undoubtedly capture your heart, one laugh at a time. From the moment she arrived at our home, her curiosity was evident—she sniffed every inch of the place and quickly decided that the couch was her favorite spot. A Day in the Life of Layka Layka's daily routine is a charming mix of relaxation and playful energy. About 75% of her day is spent as a content couch potato, while the remaining 25% is dedicated to her puppy zoomies, where she eagerly wants to play. Her play mode often involves heading to the backyard for a game of "fetch" with her Kong ball. Fetch deserves quotation marks because, more often than not, Layka ends up throwing the ball in the air herself and chasing it around like an exuberant baby kangaroo. She sprints full speed from one end of the yard to the other, taking frequent pit stops at the kitchen water dish for huge, refreshing slurps. It's essential to have a nice big bowl because Layka loves her water! After about 10-15 minutes of this energetic play, she sprints back inside, bringing her ball to the couch as a signal that she's all tuckered out. A Perfect Work-From-Home Companion I work from home, and Layka has proven to be a wonderful coworker. She spends her time in the living room, keeping an eye on passersby from the window. Every half hour or so, she trots into my office for a brief session of belly rubs and kisses before returning to her relaxing routine. Having Layka around has made my workdays much more enjoyable. Settling In and House Training Layka is house-trained, although she did have a couple of accidents during her first week with us, which we attributed to being in a new environment. She quickly learned to stand by the back door and gaze at us when she wanted to be let outside. Occasionally, she just wanted to enjoy the sunshine. When ready to come back in, she would sit politely at the door and give a short little bark to let us know. Overall, Layka has brought endless joy and laughter into our home. Her playful antics and loving demeanor have made her a beloved member of our household. By welcoming Layka into your home, you're inviting a happy and playful companion into your life. Her adventurous spirit and affectionate nature are sure to fill your days with joy and warmth. If you're ready for a lively and loving furry friend, Layka might just be the perfect match for your family! If interested please go to our website and fill out an application. Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Single female surrendered by a local family at 3.5 months old. Puppy was originally adopted from Blues City Animal Rescue in Memphis, TN but was too high energy. CPR contacted the previous rescue to notify them we had their dog, they shared they were aware of the situation and had arranged a return transport at a later date but would be happy to have her adopted out of CPR and avoid the travel. Came with the name "Daisy." **This puppy requires a fenced-in yard.** From the foster: If you're looking for the sweetest, smartest bestie, Nauti is your girl! She truly has been one of the easiest and most lovable foster pups I've ever had. Nauti loves adventures! She enjoys going for walks and is doing great on her leash. Every dog she meets is an instant friend and she just loves to play! Despite her playful side, she's such a calm, quiet girl who simply loves being close to her people. She will follow me around the house and nap at my feet on the couch. Her name couldn't fit her better, Nauti (like Nautical) is obsessed with water! Sprinklers, wet patios, running water... if it's splashing, she's there having the time of her life. She's fully house-trained with zero accidents and is completely crate-trained. She may give a few little whines when she's first tucked in, but as long as she knows you're nearby, she'll settle down and sleep all night. Nauti is a tall girl with the cutest oversized paws and is still growing into them! She's incredibly smart, eager to learn, and we're currently working on keeping all four paws on the ground “down” when she gets excited. She really is such a special girl. Few of her favorite things- toppers on her food, WOOF Honest Chew antler, & belly rubs! Come meet your new best friend! 🩵🐾 www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Litter of 10 puppies transferred from Levelland Animal Friends in Texas. Prior to rescue, the puppies were living in extreme heat in a very small outdoor enclosure while battling fleas and flies. They arrived in Colorado at 8 weeks of age, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and had not yet been spayed or neutered From the foster: River will come roaring into your life just like his namesake. From his bubbling personality, his “Lazy River” moments, and his energy when he plays, Riv checks all the boxes! Riv is ready to join his forever people on ALL the outside adventures. Be aware though like most pups, Riv enjoys chewing on sticks etc. - he also tries to swallow much of what he chews - he will need a little help figuring out food vs not food! When adventure time is done, this little guy would like nothing better than to cuddle up and sleep. Fun fact: offer your hand or arm and gently scratch his back - he will nibble with his front teeth (is super gentle) like he’s returning the favor to scratch you too! Ready for silky ears, an adventurous spirit, and the very best snuggle? Come meet River! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

They arrived in Colorado at 8 weeks of age, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and had not yet been spayed or neutered From the foster: Wanda might be the smallest in her litter, but she makes up for it with a big personality, and a little bit of thievery. This independent queen is the first to explore every toy, stick and corner of the yard. Sometimes that stick or toy might be enjoyed by her brother, but not for long! There isn’t a toy she has not enjoyed! Wanda also enjoys tackling her brother, Cosmo, but does not appreciate the favor being returned and is not shy to let her feeling be heard. She thinks a little drama makes life more exciting. Wanda is in the beginning stages of learning puppy commands and pottying outside. So far, she hasn’t been the most food motivated, but is very toy motivated. Wanda loves a nap and pretty easily falls asleep in or out of her kennel. While she might be small now, she has back dewclaws, so could end up being a big lady. Need a little sass in your life? Come meet Wanda! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
