Story
I'm Scooby, but my stepdad has been calling me 2 Scoops. I am mostly just a very good boy. I came to AFoJ already nearly perfect. I have excellent leash skills; unless: SQUIRREL! or CAT! I am housebroken already, know some basic commands like sit, wait, and will often come when called. I am fairly lazy, doing 3 ish 30 min walks a day, and spending the balance seeking pets from stepdad and sleeping in my chair. After a long nap, I like to check and make sure my people are still there before resuming my slumbers. I like to mark any and everything I can when walking, and am a surprise pooper. Sometimes i lift my leg like Im gonna pee but than surprise myself and poo! I am very gentle: I have a cute stuffed fox stepdad gave me on day 1, and 2 weeks later it still has its stuffing so I still snuggle with it! I broke out of my crate the first time stepdad tried to leave me to there for a few hours. No matter. I just went to my chair and slept. Stepdad was very pleased I am not much of a countersurfer or trouble maker, cuz there was stuff on the counters I , but just left that alone. I have been ok being left alone, uncrated, since. I am very friendly to all peoples I have met. I am mostly disinterested in dogs. I can sit, leashed, in a shady spot in the park while leashed and unleashed dogs run and walk by. I just watch. Under responsible handlers, I have been introduced to 2 dogs with a lead-follow walk on neutral territory, then snifftroductions. We played a little, but mostly just coexisted in the other dog's homes after. I dont think I know how to play with dogs, and would benefit from supervised, trained, socialization. I do not love meeting dogs on leash, and really do not like when they jump/paw me. I have had 2-3 (non) incidents, where I barked and kinda snapped at another dog. 1 of those cornered us unexpectedly while I was getting off a scary elevator, off leash and jumping, standing in the doorway, and i was stuck in the corner... I am giving myself a pass there. The other, I think my step dad didnt notice other dog hovering in my face.  ##2079810##

Story
Now that she’s settled into her foster home, life for 1-year-old Nyra couldn’t be nicer! At a fit 40 pounds, the sleek black beauty has been revealing more of her sweetness and calmness, thrives on her fosters’ attention in the form of cuddles and pets, and enjoys engaging with the three resident teens. While she gets along well with her two larger doggy foster friends, she’s particularly fond of her 65-pound male doggy foster friend, loves romping and playing with him, then settling down to relax and recharge her batteries. At ease when encountering new people, Nyra goes for 30-45 minute walks once a day, honing her leash skills the more walks she takes, and likes jerky treats, dental bones, dog biscuits and most dog toys. Motivated by food and love, she currently knows “sit,” “leave it” and “no,” and is almost fully crate and house-trained. With much still to learn and much love to share, Nyra now needs a nurturing home, perhaps with an easygoing canine companion already there, and patient adopters who will bolster her confidence, complete her training, including her commands, and keep her in cuddles fur-ever.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. Story
Happiness is a honey brown 6-month-old beauty named Hummingbird! At 27 pounds and all legs, she’s especially sweet and affectionate, loves cuddling and snuggling with her foster mom, resting her head on her, rolling over for tummy rubs, and curling up next to her in bed at night. Extremely enthusiastic and highly energetic, Hummingbird thrives on activity, whether it’s going for long, invigorating walks, playing games of fetch or engaging with other equally energetic dogs. Obsessed with stuffed bears and balls, toys and flip flips, wonderful with children, and motivated by food, toys and love, she currently knows “no,” is never crated, and is at work on her house-training and puppy manners. Only just starting life’s journey, Hummingbird will be happiest in an extremely loving family, perhaps with another canine companion, that will perfect her manners, complete her training, including her commands, and keep her mentally stimulated and physically satisfied fur-ever. Story
Biggie is the sweetest little boy, he is super quick to learn and eager to make new friends. He does great at the dog park and has never gotten into any scuffles with humans or dogs. He has attended 3 puppy classes and has picked up well on the tricks and methods taught. It would be awesome if Biggie could have a backyard as I live in an apartment right now and he loves nothing more than sun bathing in the grass. He does well with kids too so a family with small children would be no problem at all. I just want him to find a home that ready to take on a puppy and give this sweet boy the time and space he needs.
