Billie is an adorable young mix, thought to be a Pointer/Aussie/Lab mix. She’s about 44 lbs, a bit on the lean side currently. And estimated at 4 years old. Billie joined us from a very horrible neglectful situation. She along with eight other dogs was rescued from a trailer, after the owner of the trailer was taken to a mental health facility. All dogs were starved; two were starved to death. Billie was one of the survivors, but barely so. She was skin and bones when joining our rescue program….and a look of hopelessness filled her eyes. During the last several weeks that Billie has been in her BAARK foster home, she has made notable progress, gaining weight, looking better, feeling more confident, and showing us some pep in her step! She’s even starting to play with other dogs. An ideal home and family for Billie is one who can understand her past and give her the time and space she needs to continue to build her confidence, and blossom into a loving, playful girl that she deserves to be. Good nutrition is very important given her past. Billie obviously is good with other dogs but the preferred home for Billie would be as an only dog, or with another calm friendly dog. She’d love a secure fenced yard where she could run, play, and exercise. She is scared of quick movements at this time, so smaller children would likely be overwhelming to her; older children should be fine. And let's not forget the chewing and teething-I'm still learning what's okay (and what's definitely not okay) to put in my mouth. So, be ready for some puppy-proofing! Don't forget those vet visits! I'll need to stay up to date on my boosters and vaccines, which means a few trips to see my favorite vet in the first few months. But trust me, all that effort will be worth it when you experience the endless love, puppy kisses, and pure joy I'll bring into your life. Cheese is a 3-month-old Pointer mix puppy with soulful eyes and an even sweeter personality. This happy little guy is currently working hard on learning potty training, crate training, and leash manners, and he’s making great progress! Cheese gets along well with other dogs and does great with cats, making him a wonderful addition to a multi-pet home. He can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but once he feels comfortable, his playful and affectionate side shines through. Squeaky toys instantly earn an adorable head tilt followed by a serious case of the zoomies! He loves food, cuddles, and giving as many puppy kisses as possible. Cheese would thrive with an active family who will include him in walks, adventures, and daily activities while continuing his training and socialization. Like all puppies, Cheese will need a home with patience, time, and a commitment to training — but in return, you’ll gain a loving, loyal companion ready to grow up by your side.
