I am 47lbs, 11 years young, and l am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $75 I love going for car rides. I'm house trained and I know "sit", "stay" and "give kisses". I enjoy sleeping in the sun and playing with tennis balls. All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up to date on preventatives at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present at the time of your appointment. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. The shelter is currently open by appointment only with an approved application. Please note, all applications are considered general and stay on file for 6 months. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, the adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. Sammy is a sweet, 8 year old Pointer Mix, possibly a bit of a Lab Mix, estimated to be 45 lbs. Prior to joining BAARK, Sammy was bounced around until he reached his foster home. It takes a bit of time for Sammy to warm up to people he does not know, but once he gets to know you, he is your best friend! He enjoys being petted, and snuggling next to his person. He loves to chew bones and play with (tear apart!!) soft toys. He is not too fond of sharing his toys, however, and prefers to hide them when not playing. Sammy is afraid of loud noises and can be startled by quick movements, as well. He gets long with most dogs, but would definitely do best with a female dog friend. He’d enjoy being an only dog too. A family with older children or an all-adult home would be great, but smaller children might scare Sammy. He is housebroken, and can be left free-roaming when home alone. Sammy is fully vetted, up-to-date on all vaccinations, has had recent bloodwork, is heartworm negative and is on year-round heartworm prevention. He is also neutered and microchipped. Billie is an adorable young mix, thought to be a Pointer/Aussie/Lab mix. She’s about 44 lbs, a bit on the lean side currently. And estimated at 4 years old. Billie joined us from a very horrible neglectful situation. She along with eight other dogs was rescued from a trailer, after the owner of the trailer was taken to a mental health facility. All dogs were starved; two were starved to death. Billie was one of the survivors, but barely so. She was skin and bones when joining our rescue program….and a look of hopelessness filled her eyes. During the last several weeks that Billie has been in her BAARK foster home, she has made notable progress, gaining weight, looking better, feeling more confident, and showing us some pep in her step! She’s even starting to play with other dogs. An ideal home and family for Billie is one who can understand her past and give her the time and space she needs to continue to build her confidence, and blossom into a loving, playful girl that she deserves to be. Good nutrition is very important given her past. Billie obviously is good with other dogs but the preferred home for Billie would be as an only dog, or with another calm friendly dog. She’d love a secure fenced yard where she could run, play, and exercise. She is scared of quick movements at this time, so smaller children would likely be overwhelming to her; older children should be fine. Pepper is new to foster but she is settling in very quickly. She walks nicely on a leash and will sleep quietly in her kennel at night with the door open, or on her dog bed. She is housetrained and lived with another dog and a cat. She already knows her manners and will sit, stay, leave it and wait to be invited before jumping up on the couch.She can be left home alone without kenneling, but currently sings for several minutes (less each time) so apartment life may not be the best fit, but time will tell.Pepper is a chonky lovebug that needs to lose a few pounds so it is a good thing that she likes to go for walks. So far she just really wants to be cuddled, roll in the grass and get belly rubs. Kids make her anxious so she needs to go to an adult only home. Ingalls is at our shelter. Please submit an application from our website or just come in to meet him during open hours! Ingalls is a recent arrival from one of our partner shelters in Nebraska, but we actually know a lot about him, since he spent his entire life there until now. The shelter he came from is a sprawling property, so while he lived in a kennel most of his time there (with a rotating group of friends as his roomies!), he always had access to an outside yard and got to go on lots of amazing field trips, as you can see in his pictures. Ingalls was Mr. Popular! For the past couple of months, he was being fostered by one of the staff in her home with her two dogs. Ingalls is housebroken and crate trained! His foster mom wanted to share some additional information: "Ingalls is a good, happy boy that would make a good family dog! He's been the perfect guest in his foster home - crate trained and house trained. He gets along great with his foster sisters and has been a Helper Dog in playgroup at the shelter. Every dog is his friend! He loves his toys - will bring them outside and loves to roll around on his back and toss them in the air. He was overlooked for 4 years for no good reason, just didn't stand out among the hundreds of dogs! He's such a good boy!" Ingalls's adoption fee is $250. This animal is spayed/neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
