Story
Sammy is a sweet, 8 year old Pointer Mix, possibly a bit of a Lab Mix, estimated to be 45 lbs. Prior to joining BAARK, Sammy was bounced around until he reached his foster home. It takes a bit of time for Sammy to warm up to people he does not know, but once he gets to know you, he is your best friend! He enjoys being petted, and snuggling next to his person. He loves to chew bones and play with (tear apart!!) soft toys. He is not too fond of sharing his toys, however, and prefers to hide them when not playing. Sammy is afraid of loud noises and can be startled by quick movements, as well. He gets long with most dogs, but would definitely do best with a female dog friend. He’d enjoy being an only dog too. A family with older children or an all-adult home would be great, but smaller children might scare Sammy. He is housebroken, and can be left free-roaming when home alone. Sammy is fully vetted, up-to-date on all vaccinations, has had recent bloodwork, is heartworm negative and is on year-round heartworm prevention. He is also neutered and microchipped. If you would like to add Sammy to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.

Story
Billie is an adorable young mix, thought to be a Pointer/Aussie/Lab mix. She’s about 44 lbs, a bit on the lean side currently. And estimated at 4 years old. Billie joined us from a very horrible neglectful situation. She along with eight other dogs was rescued from a trailer, after the owner of the trailer was taken to a mental health facility. All dogs were starved; two were starved to death. Billie was one of the survivors, but barely so. She was skin and bones when joining our rescue program….and a look of hopelessness filled her eyes. During the last several weeks that Billie has been in her BAARK foster home, she has made notable progress, gaining weight, looking better, feeling more confident, and showing us some pep in her step! She’s even starting to play with other dogs. An ideal home and family for Billie is one who can understand her past and give her the time and space she needs to continue to build her confidence, and blossom into a loving, playful girl that she deserves to be. Good nutrition is very important given her past. Billie obviously is good with other dogs but the preferred home for Billie would be as an only dog, or with another calm friendly dog. She’d love a secure fenced yard where she could run, play, and exercise. She is scared of quick movements at this time, so smaller children would likely be overwhelming to her; older children should be fine. If you would like to consider Billie for a member of your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. Note that BAARK is located in the NW Suburbs of Chicago and adopts local to our area.

Story
Meet Ella! This 1 year-old, 55-pound bundle of joy is a true testament to the power of second chances. Just days before she was set to be euthanized in a high-kill shelter due to overcrowding, we couldn't stand by and let that happen. We saw the videos and pictures of Ella-full of life, energy, and happiness-and knew we had to give her a shot. Fast forward to today, and Ella is living her best life in her foster home, where she has flourished into the playful, goofy girl we knew she would be. Ella is fostered with multiple dogs and cats, and she's the life of the party! She's obsessed with playing with her doggy friends-whether it's a game of chase, or just bouncing around with a toy, she's always up for fun. She's crate trained, food motivated, and friendly with everyone she meets, both human and canine. Ella is also working on her potty training, and with a little more practice, she'll be the perfect house guest. Her bubbly, boisterous personality is contagious, but it can be a bit much for some dogs who aren't as interested in playtime. She's still learning to read social cues and would do best in a home with another dog who enjoys her high-energy, playful nature. Homes with young kids will be considered on a case by case basis, as Ella's still working on not jumping when she gets excited. While Ella has yet to interact with cats, we don't anticipate any issues-she's just a big, goofy lovebug with no mean bone in her body. Ella's zest for life makes her the perfect companion for an active family or anyone ready to keep up with her playful spirit. If you're looking for a dog who is all heart, all play, and all love, Ella is the girl for you! Rey of Hope Rescue is a locally based dog & cat rescue in Milwaukee serving all of SE Wisconsin. We are passionate about helping you find the best pet match for your home. WI License # DS-536355

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Faith is a stunning 1-year-old Black Labrador/Pointer mix with a personality as striking as her looks. Her foster describes her as sweet but shy, especially around new people. Though she may be a little nervous and jumpy at first, Faith warms up in time. She is still learning to feel comfortable in new environments and may need some patience when meeting new people or dogs, as she can be a bit assertive around other animals. Faith loves to chase balls and frisbees and thrives on regular exercise. She's a strong girl who can get a bit stir-crazy if kept indoors for too long, so she'd do best in a home where she gets plenty of outdoor time to run and play. Squirrel chasing is one of her favorite activities, so be sure to hold the leash tightly when those little critters are around! While Faith knows how to "sit" and has settled into a routine with eating and bathroom breaks, she could use some training in a few areas, especially with baths and nail trims-she's not a fan! She also loves to chew, so be sure to have plenty of bones and toys around and keep other items out of her reach. Faith needs a patient and active family to help her continue building confidence. If you're looking for a playful, sweet dog who's ready for love and adventure, Faith could be the perfect addition to your home! For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
