Polly is a two-year-old 50 pound black and white pointer that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 7/1 as a stray along with her sibling Holly. At two years old it's obvious they've been together since birth. They are now sharing the same kennel. She's really a very handsome girl. She is energetic and active. She's athletic in that she likes to climb. She scampered all over the yard. She was somewhat skittish, especially upon hearing a loud noise. She was not interested in playing with toys and does not seem to know the sit command. She also was not interested in my treats. Once she got used to me, she came up to me put her head on my lap, started wagging her tail and gave me kisses. She sniffed other dogs but did not appear to be interested. She did her business when she got out into the yard. She walks OK on a leash. She would love to go for long walks and have a yard to romp in, but would mostly want to be an inside dog where she can share her love with her new family.

Holly is a little unsure and timid at first but warms up quickly. It's obvious she's seeking a human friend. Holly is a two-year-old 51 pound tan and white pointer that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 7/1 as a stray. She came in with her sibling Polly(see last photo). Holly it's a bit cautious at first. She explored the laundry room and began to relax. At that point, she start wagging her tail and stayied close to me. She's very gentle, sweet, calm, adorable, and very affectionate. She gives kisses. She does not seem to know the sit command, nor is she interested in playing with toys. She's different than her sister in that she did want treats even though she didn't know any commands. She appeared to be intimidated by other dogs. She did do her business out in the yard. She was reluctant to walk on the leash and needed to be coaxed, but when I took her back to her kennel she did a little better. She certainly can learn! She has a makings of a loyal, devoted companion. With her size she would need to romp in a yard or go for walks but would need to be an inside dog where she can share family time with her new loving family.

Seamus is a big boy at over 80 lbs, but he is just one big old hunk of love. He is a very smart guy too and, after apparently having been dumped on a country road, set out and found himself some very nice humans who took him in out of the cold and made sure he was ok. He is very grateful and shows that with lots of love and kisses. His big hope is that he will soon be in a furever home where he can stay for the rest of his life! Can it be yours?

Demi is like an introvert in people terms. She is shy, and takes a minute to warm up to new people. She will do best with a strong leader that can give her directions and protection in dog terms. She is dog friendly, and often used to help new dogs play in a safe environment. She is treadmill trained, crate trained, knows placework and can walk with a leash. She loves being outside, and has a playful and sweet demenor. She has been around children, and really is just a sweet girl for an owner who will understand what she needs.

BRODY Young Male, Boxer/Pointer Mix, Ferris / Hutchins, TX Shelter , DAPPv, Bordetella, Dewormed, Flea preventativ This little cutie adores both people and other dogs. He is adorable, rambunctious and ALL PUPPY. About 9 months to a year old. Per ths shelter, they believe he is housebroken. Approximately 50 pounds. Lovable young dog that is very silly and fun and playful. Everyone at the shelter absolutely ADORES this dog. Due to his puppiness he will need some training - note he does well on a leash. The ACO told me a hilarious story about Brody waiting to ambush him (wants to play with him) after he lets him out in the play yard. So funny! LOL. Silly goofy goober bear. Please help save him!
