Story
Are you looking to welcome a Senior Dog into your heart? Izzy is ready to spend the rest of her golden days in a home of her own. Izzy savors life at a relaxed pace. She is independent and finds comfort on a cozy couch. While she's content to stroll on a leash, she's not one for extensive walks. An afternoon of relaxation on the couch is preferable to a trip to the dog park.

If you're wondering about Izzy's breed, a DNA test revealed her genetic makeup:
42.5% American Pit Bull Terrier
27.9% Akita
14.1% Australian Cattle Dog
7.5% Boxer
8.0% Supermutt

If Izzy's unhurried lifestyle is what you are looking for, send in an application to meet your perfect match!

Story
Demi is like an introvert in people terms. She is shy, and takes a minute to warm up to new people. She will do best with a strong leader that can give her directions and protection in dog terms. She is dog friendly, and often used to help new dogs play in a safe environment. She is treadmill trained, crate trained, knows placework and can walk with a leash. She loves being outside, and has a playful and sweet demenor. She has been around children, and really is just a sweet girl for an owner who will understand what she needs.

Story
Milo came all the way from a Border town in Mexico.  Very few get out and he was so scared we just had to save him.  He was a small boy = weighing only 34 lbs, but has gained healthy weight and is now up to 55lbs.  He was shut down completely when we got him.  Now that he is in a foster home he is doing so much better. He loves to play with other dogs and would do best with another dog to make him feel confident.  He is adorable, sweet, and cuddly. He is also cat friendly. Because of his fear we think he would be best with older children if any.  Toddlers would scare him with quick movements most likely. codys_adoption_application. ##1111626##

Story
Lacey is a 2 year old border collie mix ? who was found by a Good Samaritan while she was wandering a busy road in a rural area. She weighs 50 lbs. She is such a sweet happy girl and loves every person and dog she meets. She is a true border collie and is smart, wants to be near her people, and wants to run and keep active. Lacey goes for daily runs in the morning with her foster mom and is an excellent running buddy! The morning exercise followed by a play session with the resident dogs make her tired and chill for the work day. She would thrive in a home with someone who wants a frequent hiking, running, or biking buddy! She does have some separation anxiety but does well in a crate and quiets down after a little bit of time. She would love a family with someone who works from home most of the time. Lacey is very obedient, house trained, and friendly and would love to find her forever home! Cody's adopts dogs in the greater DFW area and does not adopt puppies under the age of 6 months into apartment homes.   https://bit.ly/codys_adoption_application. ##1831965##

Max was hit by a car and miraculously only received a few scraps and bruises.   He now is ready for a foster or forever home.  He enjoys toys, spending time with people, and is doing great in his kennel and potty training.  If you would like to meet Max, please email steffeniegaprescue@gmail.comMay 9, 2024, 2:38 pm

Story
Hank is a super sweet and goofy boy. He was found as a stray in the country, just trying to survive on his own. People were very mean to him when he would come around looking for food.  Because of this, he is very shy/nervous in new places and around new people, but non aggressive.   Once you win him over, he will give you his entire heart.  He is extremely loving and affectionate, quite the big baby. Hank is loyal, and goofy.  He loves to play and loves adventure. His smile as is big as Texas and his little under bite is one of the cutest things you'll see! He would do best in a low traffic home. He has been fostered with a small (very dog experienced) child and is great, but he is a bit hyper and clumsy at times and can accidentally knock a small child down, (he's 80lbs), so he would do best with older children.  He would thrive in a home with another dog to play with in a big back yard, but does require slow introductions as he is wary of new dogs at first.  He is rambunctious with his dog friends and needs a friend that tolerate his ruff house play!  He has been with other dogs ranging from 15-65lbs.  Hank does well with non confrontational cats! Hank has a (back) foot deformity.  We do not know if it was a birth defect or if something happened to him, but he only has one toe on his back foot, which contributes some to his clumsiness.  He has been on glucosamine and joint supplements his entire time in rescue and it is recommended he stays on them his entire life to prevent early arthritis because of his foot.  It is not expensive and can be bought over the counter. Story
Hi, my name is Stormy.I am one sweet girl who really enjoys meeting people. It doesn't take much for me to give you a greeting in kisses and nudge at you to give me pets in return! Since my stay here at the shelter, I am making progress on how to engage in playgroups and working on my leash manners. A couple treats here and there will surely get my attention so you better have them with you when training me for basics and other fun things! For right now, I would like to be the only dog until my social skills are set. More time to get to know you and your training style, wouldn't you agree? Let's see what you can teach me! I'm ready to serve and impress! I am microchipped, spayed, and up to date on vaccines. In addition, I receive monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention. All dogs are $75, which can be paid via cash, card, or by check. Please feel free to visit me anytime during the shelter's hours Monday through Friday 11am-5pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm.
