Story
Hank is a super sweet and goofy boy. He was found as a stray in the country, just trying to survive on his own. People were very mean to him when he would come around looking for food.  Because of this, he is very shy/nervous in new places and around new people, but non aggressive.   Once you win him over, he will give you his entire heart.  He is extremely loving and affectionate, quite the big baby. Hank is loyal, and goofy.  He loves to play and loves adventure. His smile as is big as Texas and his little under bite is one of the cutest things you'll see! He would do best in a low traffic home. He has been fostered with a small (very dog experienced) child and is great, but he is a bit hyper and clumsy at times and can accidentally knock a small child down, (he's 80lbs), so he would do best with older children.  He would thrive in a home with another dog to play with in a big back yard, but does require slow introductions as he is wary of new dogs at first.  He is rambunctious with his dog friends and needs a friend that tolerate his ruff house play!  He has been with other dogs ranging from 15-65lbs.  Hank does well with non confrontational cats! Hank has a (back) foot deformity.  We do not know if it was a birth defect or if something happened to him, but he only has one toe on his back foot, which contributes some to his clumsiness.  He has been on glucosamine and joint supplements his entire time in rescue and it is recommended he stays on them his entire life to prevent early arthritis because of his foot.  It is not expensive and can be bought over the counter. Story
Danika is a beautiful 58 pound 6-year-old black-and-white Pointer/Boxer mix (best guess) with the perfect balance of playful and laid-back.  Though she can be shy at first, she loves her daily walks, enjoys a good game of tug, and is just as happy relaxing nearby while her people work or unwind. She’s the kind of dog who simply enjoys being part of the family. Danika is thriving in her foster homes, where she is living with teenage children and older calmer male dogs. Danika was found with another dog, a sweet male we named Dalton, who has already been adopted.  Their special bond has shown us that Danika enjoys the companionship of another calm, friendly male dog, and she would likely thrive best in a similar situation.  She has wonderful house manners and is fully house trained, crate trained, and walks nicely on a leash. Danika is affectionate without being demanding, has an easygoing personality, and settles in beautifully at home. She would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, loving dog to share walks, quiet evenings, and everyday life. If you’re looking for a mature dog who has left her difficult past behind and is ready to spend the rest of her life being cherished, Danika may be the perfect addition to your family. **Danika prefers women over men so we are looking for a home with all women or a single woman. Older teens are just fine, but we are not recommending small children as they may be too busy or boisterous for her.**   To meet Danika in person visit us at www.dsda.org/foster and submit our online adoption application.  ADOPTION FEE Covers: Core vaccines plus Lepto and Flu, all boosters, microchip, kdewormer until clear fecal test & spay or neuter when completed by a DSDA vet partner plus any necessary medical care.  All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption!  * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325  Dogs (over 12 months) - $275  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.  Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. Must have a secure fence if in a house. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard.  DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas. ##2751019##

Story
Abby — Her Happily-Ever-After Is Waiting Hi there… I’m Abby, and I have a very important question for you: Do you have room in your heart and on your couch for a girl who has been waiting a very long time to belong to someone? I’m a beautiful 55-lb liver, white & roan Brittany/GSP mix, and if there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I LOVE with my whole heart. I’m healthy, spayed, heartworm and tick negative, and on prevention. Now all I’m missing is my forever family. I’m the perfect combination of silly and snuggly. I’ll get a case of the zoomies, race around and enjoy myself, and then—just like that—I’m ready to curl up beside you for some serious couch time. ️ I’m pretty sure being a professional cuddle buddy is the job I was born to do. And personal space? Well… I may have heard of it. If you’re my person, I want to be with you. That’s why getting a good picture of me can be tricky—I’d much rather be leaning against you, sitting beside you, or soaking up your love than posing for the camera. I Want to Be Your One & Only Abby loves her people BIG, and she would be happiest as the only dog in her forever home. But please don’t think of that as something she’s missing. Think of it this way: one very special girl gets to give one very lucky family ALL of her heart. ❤️ She isn't asking for doggie siblings. She is asking for YOU—someone who wants a devoted companion, a couch-sharing partner and a best friend who will be thrilled every single day that you came home. A physical fenced yard is required so Abby can safely enjoy her sunshine, sniffing adventures and those adorable bursts of zoomies before coming back inside to her favorite place—right next to her person. Her Past Is Behind Her. Her Future Is What Matters. Abby's life wasn't always easy. There was a time when she was frightened, confused and facing a future that almost ended far too soon. Kind people chose to give her another chance. And Abby did something beautiful with that chance. She blossomed. Today, we don't want Abby's story to be about what almost happened to her. We want it to be about what happens next. We want the next chapter to be about the day someone saw her sweet face and decided: “That's my girl.” A warm bed. A safe yard. A spot on the couch. A human to follow from room to room. A lifetime of belly rubs, kisses and being ridiculously spoiled. That's the ending we're looking for. ❤️ Abby doesn't need a perfect world. She just needs to be someone's girl. And whoever chooses her won't simply be giving Abby her forever home… They'll be getting a loyal, affectionate, wonderfully silly girl who has been saving an enormous amount of love for the family she can finally call her own. Abby is ready. Her bags are packed. Her heart is wide open. Her couch-cuddling skills have been perfected. Now she just needs someone to say, “Abby, you're home.” The adoption fee for OK/Abby,  who lives in Tulsa, OK area  is $325, (which helps to offset our vetting and allows NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If you are interested in making OK/Abby part of your family, please complete the online application by visiting www.nbran.org .  Please let your state coordinator know so we can get the ball rolling.  Also, please email the state coordinator of OK/Abby-Melinde Waddle @ macgammy@gmail.com  Once approved by your state coordinator, I will setup talking with you about Abby. Transportation can be arranged up  to 1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.    September 3, 2026, 5:11 pm
