Story
Hi, my name is Precious and I am from Alabama! From the foster: Precious is the perfect name for this girl! She definitely is precious! Precious is a balance between active playmate, wrestling with and running with her foster brother, and buddy to her foster mom, insisting on pets by 'nosing' mom's hand to let her know that more pets are needed. She's not a cuddler but stays close to and follows her foster mom around and always knows where she is. Her hip surgery is behind her and she has been recovering well. She was immediately back to running, jumping and playing, and of course looking beautiful. Precious can be shy in new situations, needing a moment to warm up and be comfortable. Once she does, her affectionate and loyal traits shine brightly, making her a wonderful companion. Precious enjoys playing with toys and enjoys playing with the other small pups in the house. So much so, that I think Precious would really do best with a canine sibling about the same size and energy level. Precious will thrive in a loving home where she can feel secure and cherished. Consider opening your heart and home to Precious; she's ready to be your devoted friend. From the Vet: Precious was recently evaluated with the Rescue Medical Team and it was determined that due to previous suspected trauma as well as decreased range of motion and intermittent lameness, she will need an orthopedic surgery on her hip to repair the hip joint itself and provide Precious with greater comfort and quality of life going forward. Her forever family should be prepared for about 4-6 weeks of rest and activity restriction as well as some gentle physical therapy at home. She may benefit from joint supplements life long, but we know there is a warm sunny spot on someone's couch just waiting for her!
