Hi! My name is Queso, and I am from Georgia! Queso is a quiet little soul with a tender heart who’s still learning what it means to feel safe. She made her journey here from Georgia—alongside her travel buddy Taco—to help make room for pets displaced by the wildfires. While we don’t know much about her past, it’s clear that the world feels a bit overwhelming to her right now. Queso and Taco arrived together in the same kennel, and while we can’t say for certain that they’re bonded, they do take comfort in one another. Behind the scenes (thank goodness for cameras!), we’ve even caught them play-wrestling in their kennel—proof that her playful side is just waiting to shine.

Hi! My name is Taco, and I am from Georgia! Taco is a gentle, timid boy with a soft heart who’s slowly learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. He made his way here from Georgia alongside his companion Queso to help make room for pets displaced by the wildfires. While we don’t know much about his past, it’s clear he’s doing his best to build confidence one small step at a time. Taco and Queso traveled together in the same kennel, and while we’re not certain they’re bonded, they definitely find comfort and reassurance in each other. He’s the more adventurous of the two and has started to venture out beyond his kennel, especially when he wants to spend time with his people.

Hi, my name is Precious and I am from Alabama! From the foster: Precious is, well... precious! Precious can be a bit shy in new situations, needing just a moment to warm up. Once she does, her affectionate and loyal traits shine brightly, making her a wonderful companion. Precious enjoys playing with toys and enjoys playing with the other small pups in the house. So much so, that I think Precious would really do best with a canine sibling about the same size and energy level. She doesn't cuddle, but loves to be pet and will nose your hand to let you know she wants more pets. Precious would thrive in a loving home where she can feel secure and cherished. Consider opening your heart and home to Precious; she's ready to be your devoted friend. From the Vet: Precious was recently evaluated with the Rescue Medical Team and it was determined that due to previous suspected trauma as well as decreased range of motion and intermittent lameness, she will need an orthopedic surgery on her hip to repair the hip joint itself and provide Precious with greater comfort and quality of life going forward. Her forever family should be prepared for about 4-6 weeks of rest and activity restriction as well as some gentle physical therapy at home. She may benefit from joint supplements life long, but we know there is a warm sunny spot on someone's couch just waiting for her!
