Story
Gilbert is a soft, fluffy, blue-eyed, white Husky. He is a sweet guy, house trained, crate trained, gets along with dogs of all sizes, and is respectful of cats (even bullies like ours!). He rides well in a car and is good on a leash. While Gilbert appears happy, active, and healthy, he is considered a hospice case. He is being treated for health issues that require he receive his meds on schedule. His favorite things are walks and some love. He does need a secure fence for, if loose, he loves a free and joyous romp through the neighborhood! For someone willing to give him the care he needs, and make his days filled with fun and love, Gilbert would be a wonderful friend!

Story
Hi, my name is Rose and I am from Arkansas! From the Vet: Rose was evaluated by The Rescue Vet at her intake exam and it was determined that she will need several surgeries! She needs to be spayed prior to adoption; She will also need a right rear knee surgery to repair her grade 4/4 MPL (Medial Luxating Patella). The surgeon recommends 4-6 weeks of activity restriction and light physical therapy at home so her forever home will be some place quiet and comfortable to recover. Rose also has fairly severe dental disease, so TBB will also be approving a dental surgery be added to her adoption contract. Dental recovery is typically a bit easier than the orthopedics, but an adopter should expect full recovery in 2-4 weeks post op and providing a soft food (canned or softened kibble) diet until the teeth and gums heal from the cleaning and likely some extractions. Her contract will include the surgery (1 MPL and 1 COHAT Dental) + 1 round of medications and 1 recheck appointment as determined necessary by The BB Rescue Medical Team.

Story
Hi, my name is Kryptonite and I am from Arkansas! He is good with dogs (better with dogs his size but good either way), cats & kids. He isn’t fixed yet so he is still wearing a wrap at my house. He hasn’t been marking anymore with going out on a schedule. He refuses to walk on a leash, but loves being out in the yard. He is very quiet, haven’t heard him bark yet! He has a deformed back leg but it doesn’t impact him. He can’t do many stairs though (about 2-3 tops). He will use them to go outside but when we go to bed I carry him. He sleeps in bed with my daughter but during the day when I leave he goes in his kennel. From the Vet: Kryptonite has been evaluated by The BB Rescue Medical Team in consultation with our board certified orthopedic surgery partners. We have determined that to ensure a good outcome Kryptonite will need an orthopedic surgery on his left leg/pelvis. Generally recovery is about 4-6 weeks with return to normal activity at about 8 weeks post op. His forever home will be somewhere he can be given lots of extra love and TLC as he recovers and some brief physical therapy at home during his recovery may be recommended by the surgeon. TBB will also agree to cover his Neuter and Dental procedure approximately 4 weeks after this leg surgery to give his body time to reset between anesthetic events. Despite his deformities, he will be the perfect cuddle buddy for the right family!
