She does well with dogs her size and respects cats, though bigger pups can be a bit intimidating for her. Monarch is still working on her training—commands like sit, come, and leave it—but she’s a quick learner who loves praise. She’s also a bit of a barker, so continued guidance will help her learn when to use her voice. When it comes to grooming, Monarch doesn’t mind being brushed, though nail trims are still a work in progress. With her gentle spirit, eagerness to learn, and love for snuggles, Monarch is ready to find a family who will continue her training, build her confidence, and give her the love she deserves.

Hi, my name is Tommy and I am from Arkansas. From his foster: Tommy is a social little boy who is interested in both small dogs and people (big dogs and cats are an unknown). He is also a big fan of laps and is a great sleeper. He has enjoyed playing with a lot of small breed dogs that have visited our home. He doesn't seem to know what to do with toys though. Tommy is nervous of lots of movement and noise, and it seems to put him on edge, so he really needs a quiet and understanding home free of children. He is a bit fearful of car rides, but we have been training him to make them a positive experience and it has helped him calm down after a bit.

Once you earn his trust, Alvin is happy to lay beside you or play a game of fetch or tug of war with his plushies. He now loves his walks, and gets really excited about squirrels and rabbits. He's a little shadow that likes to be near his person. Now that he's gotten comfortable, Alvin has become more energetic and playful, and loves his plushies. Alvin is doing great with housetraining in his usual routine, though needs some time to adjust when in a new environment. From the Vet: Alvin has had a dental surgery while in rescue, so he will have a healthy mouth for his new family!

He is good on the leash and loves smelling everything while on walks. After he finishes playing he will snuggle up next to you for a nap. He is fully house trained and will go to the door or jump on you when it is time to go outside. He likes sleeping next to me on the bed or wrapped up in one of his blankets. He is very curious and will follow you around the house to make sure he is not missing out on the action! He can get overstimulated and bark when people enter the home or if he is approached by someone he doesn't know. A quiet home with less noise and distractions will assure success for Oscar. He does not like a kennel or being confined. He is better with women than men, but warms to everyone with time. He needs weekly medicated baths for his sensitive skin, but this is greatly improved. Frequent ear cleaning/checks are needed.
