Story
Meet Zoe, a Chihuahua born approx 3/7/2020. Zoe is a sweet girl who has had a lot of transitions in her life. She can be a little slow to warm up, but once she does, she is very cuddly. She has seemed to attach strongly to the mom of the house and does get anxious when she leaves, but eventually settles down. She’s been alone up to 6 hours, has been free floating around the house, and has not had any accidents or destroyed anything during that time. Zoe is house-trained, and scratches at the door when she needs to be let out. She is not kennel trained. She has been great with our 3.5 year old daughter. Initially she was respectful and a little afraid of our cat, but she has had a few instances of lashing out toward the cat, She has been great with our small dog, and has met other big dogs on leash and has reacted positively. She loves walks, and while she pulls sometimes, she is easily redirected. Zoe is a medium energy level. She loves running off-leash on our acreage, but can also curl up on the couch and be content. In the car Zoe wants to ride on your lap, but also does fine in the kennel during rides. Zoe is treat motivated, playful, and sweet and will make a great family dog for a very lucky family.    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $425.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 21, 2025, 8:08 pm

Story
Hi there! My name is Ray. My foster family calls me RayRay when I am adorable and good and Raymond when I am adorable and not so good. I’m a little over 4 months old, and at my last check-up I weighed in at 14 lbs! I’m a Chihuahua Mix, but my foster mom thinks my dad had to be a bigger dog. I am still small, but I have long legs and a strong build.  I'm curious and love exploring, but also want to be wherever you are! You leave the room, I follow! Want to cook in the kitchen? I’d like a bed or blanket near your feet!  On the sofa or in a chair, let me be your personal space heater!  My favorite things to do are snuggling, playing fetch with tennis balls, zoomies (especially outside), belly pats, and chewing on my emotional support leek (dog toy).  I have a super chill resident sister dog. I like to try and play with her and steal her treats and food. She’s fine, but I definitely prefer my humans!  I’m very smart and very treat-driven when training. I already know sit and down, and will occasionally even do them!  And now my doggo FAQs:  Crate training:  The crate isn't my favorite place yet, but I calm down after a few minutes. I’m crated in the bedroom at nighttime so I can see my humans and in the living room if I am home alone during the day. Toofers: I am still teething, so I need things to chew on.  Housebreaking: Since I’m just a baby, I am still potty training. I do a great job of going outside if you keep me on a schedule. I just haven’t figured out how to ask to go outside yet. Most nights I sleep a good 7 hours in my crate before I need out. The Leash: I’m still working on leash walking. We haven’t went out much to keep me safe from those scary puppy viruses, and my potty breaks are in a fenced in yard right now.  Socialization:   I  very much like being the center of attention.    I have been socialized around younger kids but have been living in a quiet house with a teen and very mellow dog for the past month.  I’m little and a chihuahua, so sometimes I am scared of things. New people can be scary, but give me time and I will shine! Loud noises outside can be scary too. I do a great Chihuahua shake when scared or cold. I can let out a few barks here and there too. Traveling: Car rides aren’t my favorite, but I think that’s just because my foster mom is too cheap to get drive thru coffee, so no pup cups for me yet. I get scared, and I am quiet and like to be held, but also can travel in my crate.    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $625.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 30, 2025, 7:55 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxMeet Clark! This spunky, sassy little Pomeranian–Chihuahua mix is equal parts cutie pie and bossy pants. Clark knows what he wants and isn’t shy about letting you know with his voice and body language. He takes time to warm up to new people, but once he trusts you, he can be a sweet cuddle buddy—on his own terms, of course. Clark is housetrained and enjoys strutting proudly on leash.  He is an active little guy and will need daily walks.  Clark is GREAT in the car and loves going for rides whether it is for short errands or long trips!  He loves playing with squeaky toys too!Clark currently is being fostered in a home with several dogs and does just fine after introductions.  He can be a bit reactive (barky and bossy) when meeting new dogs but once introduced and comfortable, he will race and chase with them in the yard. Because of his strong personality, Clark is looking for an adult-only home with people who can set boundaries with him.    If you’re searching for a spirited sidekick with plenty of character, Clark just might be your match!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //
