Story
Jasper is a playful, outgoing pup who was surrendered along with his 2 siblings and a cousin. They were living in a remote rural area and the owner felt they would not be able to find them good homes so they asked PUP to take them. The pups arrived well fed and the children in the family had done a good job of socializing them. Jasper is outgoing and highly people oriented and is eager for any available lap time. We believe he is 7-8 weeks old on 8-10-2026.
YUP, A German Shepherd Chihuahua X! We submitted a DNA sample on one pup from the litter and it is quite the mix: Top 5 Breeds: 17% German Shepherd Dog, 10% Chihuahua, 8% Golden Retriever, 6% Border Collie, 6% Siberian Husky. The rest is: Australian Cattle Dog, Collie, Labrador Retriever, American Cocker Spaniel, Samoyed, Alaskan Malamute, Chow Chow, American Akita, Bullmastiff, American bulldog, Rottweileer, American Pit Bull Terrier, Pekingese, Toy Poodle, Japanese Chin, Catahoula Leopard dot and Saint Bernard. We think he will be midsized as an adult but we are guessing and his adopter should be prepared to love him if he is smaller or larger than predicted. He is reliably using newspapers in the house but has not started going outside to potty.
The early months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Adopters should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards. AND puppy needs many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Just sharing a home with another dog is not as much doggie socializing as puppy needs. If good canine social skills are not learned and maintained during these early months, it will be very difficult to ever master them. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store, puppy socialization classes and later, obedience classes are particularly important. If all this doggie time and involvement seems like a good idea, you are up for a puppy! As always, a tired dog is a good dog.
Puppy has been vet checked, is vaccinated, and de-wormed. He will need two additional puppy vaccinations plus rabies at the adopters expense. We do place puppies outside the metro area if a firm plan for the alter surgery is in place; we do not ship. His required alter surgery is covered by the adoption fee if it is done by 6 months at the PUP clinic. We require that he be altered by 6 months.
If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a puppy, CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. We are pretty slow at responding to e-mail. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy. If you currently have a companion dog or cat please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption if requested.
