Story
**Potential adopters must fill out the questionnaire at the end of the bio and forward to graciabutter@gmail.com. Fall in love with Josie’s picture? She certainly has the cutest little face! In addition to her adorableness, she has the most curious sniffer and the longest tongue. Truly a character. But beyond her looks is an adult dog who likely had little to no interaction with people. Feral would be the most suitable word to describe her when she first came to ARR. She is not aggressive but fearful. Over the last few months, Josie has learned that it’s ok to be touched, that people offer tasty treats (that she’s happy to take when she gets to know you), how to walk on a leash, and she even jumps in a lap and is ok with being held. What does Josie enjoy? Lying on the couch watching everything. Following her favorite person around (the cutest little shadow following close behind). Seeing her favorite person (makes your heart happy to see her excited). Learning and working for treats. Small happy dogs; but she’s comfortable with big dogs too. Men over women; but she makes the most progress with the person who takes her out of her comfort zone. And she is even starting to enjoy being pet. She is still a big work in progress but she wants to love people; she just needs the next person who can continue teaching her that the big world isn’t so scary, and people are actually pretty cool. She’s one of those dogs you just have to meet to understand. Josie is currently being fostered by a local trainer. Her adopter will need to be dedicated to continuing her training and socialization. If you are not comfortable with having her on a leash 100% of the time for several weeks then she likely is not the dog for you. It will take weeks to months for Josie to learn a whole new house and get comfortable, but in the long run, she will be your biggest fan and is the easiest little shadow to have around. ****Answers to the questionnaire must be emailed to GraciaButter@gmail.com. Please tell us a bit about yourself/family • What city do you live in? • Do you rent or own? • Any children in the home? What ages? List all family members living in home • What is your work schedule? Family schedule? Will your schedule change? • How many hours per day would the pet be left alone? • Where is pet kept when left alone? • Where does the pet sleep? • Any other pets in the home? If so, what type/breed? • How often will the dog be exercised? • If the dog becomes ill or injured are you financially prepared to provide medical care? • Are you prepared to care for this dog for its life span of 10-15 years? • Do you have a training plan? Please explain. • Do you have a plan in place in the event that something happens and you are no longer able to care for the dog? • Prior to adoption, an up-close video of your fenced yard will be required - the entire perimeter including gates and the bottom of the fencing. Yard must be free of foxtails and fully secured. • Home check may be performed • If "meet & greet" is scheduled, all household members, dogs included, must be present.

Story
Pomeranian Age: 1-2 yrs old Male, neutered 11 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Fritz was dropped off at the emergency vet by someone who saw him limping. It was determined that he had a fractured left front leg, likely as the result of being hit by a car. No one came to claim him, so the vet splinted the leg and transferred him to the Stockton Shelter. They contacted us to rescue him. The fractured leg needed surgery, which we provided. After the leg was fully healed, the surgeon decided to remove the plates and pins with a second surgery. Fritz is a VERY FRIENDLY, VERY ENERGETIC young dog. He needs LOTS of exercise and playtime. He loves playing with other dogs, but can be fairly aggressive in his play style. We think it would be better for him to have a canine playmate living in the home, but it would have to be a dog that likes rough and energetic play. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Fritz, contact: nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com
