Story
DOB 8-14-2024 Kelly is adorable, sweet and social. She loves to play, gets along with the others and likes her toys. Kelly's adoption fee is 850.00 and her transport fee is 165.00. Kelly is up to date on all medical for her age and will come with a complete set of paperwork. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. After you submit your application please allow a few days to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We do look for the best home that fits each of our pets, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved we with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the pet you are interested in.Together we can decide if this is the best choice for both.

Story
Hi, my name is Possum, I enjoy lazy afternoons on the couch watching Gordon Ramsey cooking shows or Star Trek. Yes, you may pet me and tell my I'm pretty, and feed me all the treats! Especially Chicken jerky or those Baa Baa Lamb bars from barkbox. Here is my story...   Despite being through some absolutely horrible circumstances... (hit by car and badly broken leg, severe respiratory infection leading to bronchitis, a heart murmur, and ending up on the 'last call list' in Texas)... Possum is always friendly, happy and will greet you with a tail wag. And as the days are sunnier and warmer, this gal has enjoyed spending more time outside enjoying the sunshine. We are looking for a home for Possum that has no stairs, is not an apartment, no big boisterous dogs or young rowdy kids as she is still fragile as she heals.   Are you looking for a calm, easy, small pooch to sleep at the foot of your bed, next to you on the couch, or at your feet in the office while you work? At just 11 lbs Possum is the perfect little companion.   Possum enjoys the company of other dogs her size, likes to bark at the neighborhood stray cats, plays with squeaky/crinkly toys, and most of all loves a good feed - only the best quality Hills small bites and homecooked lean chicken breast will do. Possum is currently re-learning potty training (after major leg surgery). She is beginning to use the doggie door but may have accidents if left alone inside for more than a few hours. However, she is improving daily and if you can commit to loving her, being patient with her, and continuing her physiotherapy to get her leg strong and healthy, the rewards she will bring you are immense!   If you want to bring into your life a little dog who really needs your love and spoiling, please consider Possum. If you would like to meet her, please fill out an adoption application to adopt this little nugget at www.northstarpets.org and ask for POSSUM TX.  March 22, 2025, 11:34 am

PLEASE READ BELOW FOR OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION LINK - WE CANNOT RESPOND TO INQUIRIES SENT VIA ADOPTAPET WE ONLY CONTACT APPLICANTS WITH WHOM WE WANT TO MOVE FORWARD. MEET PETE the PEEKAPOM North New Jersey This adorable little boy with the cutest little toopheses you've ever seen is a black with white mask and toes, male Pekingese – Pomeranian mix (PeekaPom), 13 lbs., and around 6-7 years old. He is a FUN and FUNNY little guy. He LOVES to play with toys, dogs, you, whatever, he's not fussy. He tosses his toy around in the air and then jumps to catch it himself! He will chase a tossed ball for as long as you'll throw it. And he will entertain himself in general sniffing around, chewing on a nylabone, or taking naps in the sun. He is a VERY affectionate little guy and has done well learning boundaries while here. He is now quite independent and has learned the routine. In fact, sometimes his foster mom has to drag him out of the bedroom to come outside with the others! He sleeps on a doggie bed next to his foster mom’s bed at night but would definitely LOVE to sleep in bed with his person. He snuggles on the couch while watching tv, etc. He has a blast playing with the other pups in his foster home so would be nice for him to have another fur friend to play with but it is not necessary as long as he has a human around for most of the day. He is more of the submissive type and is afraid of alpha bullies. So no mean doggies in his new home! He is also afraid of small children so tweenagers and up please. His xrays were normal, blood work was good, physical exam perfect, and he had a dental. He was extremely well behaved at the vet and groomer. He will need eye drops for dry eye and eye pressure for life. He is UTD, HW negative, neutered, dewormed, dental, housebroken, and full of love. Adoption donation is $450. TO BE CONSIDERED, PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION We only process complete applications and providing false information immediately disqualifies you from adopting. https://gingerbreaddogs.org/adopt-overview/adoption-application/ Please follow our Facebook page to see new dogs as they arrive and to keep up on the daily shenanigans: https://www.facebook.com/gingerbreaddogs ABOUT OUR PROCESS: WE ONLY CONTACT APPLICANTS WITH WHOM WE WANT TO MOVE FORWARD. We typically get in touch within 24-48 hours, but it may take up to 10 days. Please watch your email and answer your phone (from 201 area code) after you submit an application. Unfortunately, we do not have the manpower to reply to all applicants. We also do not have the manpower to accept phone calls. Everything we know about the dog is posted above. Our adoption process is on our website. You can see more about our daily operations on our Facebook page. PLEASE give your vet office permission to speak with rescues if you are applying to adopt from any rescue. Ask them to mark your file. If they will not speak with us, we will move on to the next application and you will not be considered. We consider out-of-area adoptions on a case-by-case basis. All meet & greets and adoptions are held in north New Jersey, and we do not transport our pups. You must come to NJ. We also do not “hold” dogs. It is “first qualified, first come” and our expectation is you will move quickly to conduct the meet & greet if you are approved. An approved application does not guarantee adoption of any dog from our rescue, and we reserve the right to deny adoption at any point during the process.

Story
Prince is a 1-year-old adorable Pomeranian mix. This little guy is bursting with energy and adores playing with his toys, running around with his doggy friends, and soaking up affection from his favorite people. He’s friendly, social, and gets along well with other dogs, making him a great companion for a home with a resident pup. While Prince is affectionate and loves to cuddle once he feels safe, he can be a bit skittish around quick movements and needs a patient, gentle approach to build trust when being handled. With time and consistency, he blossoms into a loyal and loving companion. Prince sleeps quietly in his crate. He is making great progress with leash training and enjoys his walks, but continued positive reinforcement will help him gain even more confidence. Prince would do best in an adult-only home or with children 13 and older who understand how to respect his space. Whether he’s the only dog or joins a home with a well-matched canine friend, Prince is ready to find a family who will help him grow into the confident, happy pup he’s meant to be.

Not good with kids,
Story
Meet Maxi, a smart and spirited 2-year-old, 15-pound Pomeranian with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Maxi is looking for a single human to call his own—a best friend to share his days filled with love, training, and adventure. This clever boy knows a range of commands, including sit, lie down, come, go, and stay. Maxi loves nothing more than a good walk, some birdwatching, or tackling a feeder puzzle to show off his smarts. At home, he’s a snuggly companion who enjoys relaxing by your side and happily tolerates baths and paw handling. Maxi is tolerant of strangers but can sometimes react to them, so he’ll benefit from a patient and understanding owner who can continue his training. Because he has a tendency to bark, Maxi can be a bit of a barker, so apartment life isn't for him. Maxi’s previous home wasn’t the right match for his needs, but he’s learned so much and is eager to bring his charm and energy to the perfect forever home. He will be neutered before adoption. If you’re ready to welcome a bright, loyal companion into your life, Maxi could be the perfect fit for you! ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Story
Panini is an 8-year-old male toy Pomeranian with a heart as big as his fluffy coat! This tiny boy is the definition of a cuddle bug—he just wants to be held and will happily stay in your arms as long as you'll let him. Panini is dog and cat friendly, making him a great addition to a multi-pet home. However, due to his small size and delicate frame, an all-adult home would be best for him. He thrives on companionship and may get a little barky when left alone, so a house (rather than an apartment) where he won't disturb neighbors would be ideal. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate, and devoted little companion, Panini might just be your perfect match! Could you be the one to give this tiny treasure the forever home he deserves?
