Meet Polly Pom Pom, the Puppymill Survivor!
This fluffy little 7 year old 7lb pom is understandably terrified of… well, everything pretty much, but making progress each day. After life in a cage used for breeding, we don’t blame her for not trusting humans or knowing how to react to so many normal daily occurrences. She is a major flight risk if she ever got loose… her instinct is to panic and run and hide from humans or when spooked, so extra care will need to be taken and only cautious paranoid adopters should apply.
One thing she’s not afraid of is other dogs, and she will definitely need a home with at least one other doggie friend in the household to help her feel secure and less anxious. She can be a vocal girl and does a happy bouncy barky dance when excited and bark a bit when confined or left alone… not an apartment dog for sure. She has no clue on housebreaking and will need patience, confinement, and realistic expectations and understanding of accidents. Most of her teeth were painful and rotted and needed to be pulled during her long overdue dental, but she’s recovered nicely, eats canned food well and feels better without the source of chronic pain. She’s been spayed, updated on shots, had full bloodwork, bilateral ear infections treated, tested heartworm negative, given preventatives, and is ready to start a new and better life with the right understanding home.
