Story
Furrah Fawcett is a 2-year-old female Pug Terrier mix weighing 13 pounds. Sadly, Bakersfield continues to face a serious pet overpopulation crisis, with many dogs ending up in overcrowded, high-intake shelters where euthanasia rates remain heartbreakingly high. That’s why we step in early, taking in surrenders and strays from the area and bringing them to our facility in Thousand Oaks before they ever enter the shelter system. Furrah came from a home that simply had more dogs than they could handle. None of the animals were spayed or neutered, and the situation had become unmanageable, with 14 dogs living on the property. Shelter Hope stepped in and took in four adult dogs and five puppies so they could each have a chance at a better life. Furrah loves people, enjoys chew toys, and gets along well with other dogs. She has a medium energy level and is athletic, confident, curious, and playful, with that classic pug enthusiasm and a quirky, engaging personality that keeps you smiling. Now spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, Furrah Fawcett is ready to find her forever home. ---- Looking to Adopt? Step 1) Apply Online Submit a rescue questionnaire! Story
Julia Pawberts is a 2-year-old female Pug Terrier mix weighing 19 pounds. Julia came from a hoarding situation where none of the animals had been spayed or neutered. Over time, the number of dogs on the property grew to 14, making the situation unmanageable. Shelter Hope stepped in and took in four adult dogs and five puppies so they could each have a chance at a better life. Julia loves people and gets along well with other dogs. She has a medium energy level and is athletic, confident, curious, and playful, with that classic pug enthusiasm and a quirky, engaging personality that keeps you smiling. She is also an incredibly affectionate and gentle girl who forms bonds quickly. Julia has a sweet, submissive nature, happily rolls onto her back for belly rubs, and loves giving lots of kisses. Her loving personality and easygoing temperament make her a wonderful little buddy. She is clever and quite springy, so Julia will need a home with a tall, secure fence to keep her safe. Now spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, Julia is ready to find her forever home. ----- Looking to Adopt? Step 1) Apply Online Submit a rescue questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers. Dave is fabulous. He's an owner surrender. Super snuggly and affectionate. Would prefer to Netflix and chill than run a marathon. Very food motivated (see 3rd pic). Not a morning person. Gets along great with people and dogs. He's a 3 year old CCC (Constant Couch Companion)

Story
Two years ago we thought we couldn’t bring Miko with us but we got lucky & our luck is about to run out. Miko is 12 y/o male black pug that we have acquired from another military family when he was only a year old. We have three sons 10, 4 & 3 months who Miko is very gentle with. Miko enjoys walks, cuddles and attention. He is a good companion for empty nesters. We have a military move to the DMV area where Miko may not tolerate the harsh winters. We are sad to let Miko go as he has been with us since the beginning so our wish is that Miko to go to a loving family who will provide the attention and care that he deserves. Will provide kennel, bed, his food and other affects for him to ease the transition. Please email or text with any questions
