Taylor is very comfy around dogs and prefers to be with them as long as they are not aggressive. Her timidness reveals that she hasn't truly had the love she deserves. Taylor would be best suited in a home that is very calm with other dogs as she's very comfortable around them. She likes to be near you because it does bring her some comfort but letting her come to you is key. She is definitely a lap dog too. Taylor never barks, is a good eater and does not display an ounce of aggression even when she's frightened. Recently she started walking on a leash and has made great strides over the past few weeks. Meet Lexi! She is a 4 year old Boston Terrier mix. Her mom was a purebred Boston Terrier that was rescued from a breeding farm, before heading to a dog meat farm in South Korea. We have partners we work with there that pull these dogs from the worst horrors imaginable. Many of these dogs start off in horrific puppy mill type facilities on tiny rabbit cage size wire crates in complete filth. If they are not sold at 6 or 8 weeks then they either stay for a couple years to be used to breed more and then are sold off to the meat trade, or they are sold off right away. Jindo's and Tosa's are the most common meat type dogs, and are very commonly bred specifically for their meat and the meat farms also act as breeding farms until they reach a good age and weight. South Korea is one of the only countries that actually farms dogs for their meat. Many restaurants will serve a dish called " bosintang ", which stands for "dog meat soup". It's a popular dish in South Korea, and is said to act as an aphrodisiac for men. Little dogs are used for elixirs and potions. The younger generation is mostly against this practice and many choose to not eat them, and we can only hope in time with education and generations of change that an end will come to this horrific trade. Lexi's mom and Lexi, and several of the other puppies were flown here in 2020, for a chance at a future and a real life. Lexi being the adorable puppy that she was, was adopted right away. Sadly, after 4 years in her home, her family needs to find a new home for her. She is active and needs a family that wants to do fun things with her and has the time to be active and engaging. She gets along well with other dogs and is a very sweet girl! These are miracle dogs that they are alive today.
