Story
Loni Wagerson is a 2-year-old, 17-pound Terrier-Pug mix with a goofy personality, an adorable underbite, and enough love to brighten every room she walks into. She's affectionate, adventurous, and always wants to be wherever her people are. Whether she's climbing into your lap for cuddles, soaking up pets, or happily tagging along on your next adventure, Loni is simply happiest by your side. She's clever, athletic, delightfully springy, and always ready to make you laugh. Loni came from a home that simply had more dogs than the family could care for. None of the dogs had been spayed or neutered, and what started as a few pets eventually grew into 14 dogs living on the property. Wanting a better future for them, the family reached out for help. Shelter Hope stepped in and welcomed four adult dogs and five puppies, including Loni, giving each of them the chance to find the loving home they deserve. Now, Loni is ready to start the next chapter of her life with a family of her own. Because of her adventurous spirit and impressive jumping skills, she'll need a home with a tall, secure fence where she can safely explore and play. Loni Wagerson is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to find the forever home she's been waiting for! ------ Looking to Adopt? Step 1) Apply Online Submit a rescue questionnaire! Story
Meet Jameson “Jamie Joe”! This adorable 2-year-old Pug/Frenchie mix is a goofy, playful little character with plenty of personality. Jamie Joe was found as an unclaimed stray in Kern County and has spent the past year and a half being a much-loved personal dog. Jamie Joe is smart, confident, affectionate, and always ready for some fun. He loves toys, treats, cuddles, running around, and joining his people for car rides. He has medium energy, walks nicely on a leash, is potty trained, and gets along well with other dogs and children. With his adventurous spirit, quirky charm, and snuggly side, Jamie Joe is a wonderful companion who brings plenty of laughter and love wherever he goes. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to find his perfect forever family. ---- Looking to Adopt? Step 1) Apply Online Submit a rescue questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers. Story
The silliest, sweetest, and most lovable dog ever....meet Cosmo! Cosmo is a male, 2 year old, 18lb Pug who is the cutest little dog ever! He came to us as an owner surrender who no longer had time for him. We were asked if we could take him into our foundation and we said yes! Sadly, he came with bad skin and we took him immediately to our vet who determined it was bacterial and Cosmo was started on antibiotics and medicated baths. He is doing great and his skin looks so much better! We have had him vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. We are looking for a pug savvy home that knows the breed well. Owners that are not gone long hours during the day would be ideal along with a home that has a safe and secure backyard for him to play in. We want to place him where there is another dog for him to frolic and grow with as he absolutely loves other dogs! Cosmo is such a wonderful dog with so much love and fun energy. We promised him that we won't stop until we find him the best forever home out there! Cosmo is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. We only adopt in So Calif as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial are required. Please contact us at: gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020

Story
Meet Yogi! Yogi is a low-key sweetheart with a heart full of love for the people he trusts. If you're looking for a loyal companion who wants nothing more than to curl up at your feet, soak up belly rubs, and be your shadow, Yogi might be your perfect match. Like many sensitive dogs, Yogi needs a little time to warm up to new people. He thrives when introductions are slow and pressure-free, and once he feels safe, his affectionate personality shines. He's smart, eager to learn, and already knows several commands, including sit, stay, come, down, go to bed, and go to place. He's even working on "drop it!" Yogi enjoys a relaxed lifestyle. Most of the day, he's happy napping nearby, but he'll surprise you with short bursts of playful energy for a game of fetch or tug before settling back in for another cuddle. On walks, Yogi is easy to handle and doesn't pull. He's very responsive to his person—especially when high-value treats are involved! Because he's nervous around unfamiliar dogs, he may bark or become excited when he sees them. With slow, thoughtful introductions, Yogi can make dog friends and has even done well at the dog park, though he's still building confidence and isn't quite ready to play with every dog he meets. Yogi would do best with an adopter who understands that confidence takes time to build. He has some separation anxiety and prefers having his people close by, but he's making progress. He's mostly house-trained, sleeps comfortably in his crate, and continues to improve with patience and consistency. If you're willing to give Yogi the time he needs to settle in, you'll be rewarded with an incredibly loving, devoted best friend who will happily trade endless belly rubs for unconditional loyalty. Could Yogi be the missing piece of your family?
