While she is registered as a Pug, based on her size and the length of her muzzle, we suspect she may actually be a Puggle mix (which would include some Beagle). Either way, what matters most is her wonderful personality — and this girl truly has the best of both worlds. With her age comes a lovely balance of energy and calm. Cocoa Belle is the perfect mix of playful and relaxed, happy to enjoy some fun and attention but just as content to settle in and relax with her people. She has been around kids her entire life and understands how to respect their space without jumping up, making her an easy addition to a family home. She does great with cats, kids, and other dogs, and her adaptable personality means she could thrive with an active family or a quieter, homebody-style household. If your days are busy, Cocoa Belle will be perfectly fine holding down the fort while you’re out, then happily making the most of playtime and family time once everyone is home. Meet Ringo, a 1-year-old English Bulldog/Pug mix weighing about 45lbs. Ringo has had a rough start and is looking for a patient, dedicated home to help him blossom. He is dog friendly and very curious about other dogs, we think it would be very beneficial to have a friendly, confident dog in the home. Ringo can jump or climb any barrier or fence. He cannot be off leash outside at all as he will escape and run away. Ringo is quite nervous and will need a couple meet and greets to get comfortable. Once he is comfortable, he thinks he is a lap dog and will jump onto staff or into their laps. His ideal home would be without kids and in a quieter environment, away from a lot of traffic.If interested in Ringo, please understand he will be foster-to-adopt as he will need time to decompress. We also have a behaviorist we utilize to help with the transition and adjustment.

This is a story that will tug at your heart. Hi. It’s me. Ava. Yes, I have the little squishy pug face. Yes, I am about six years old. Yes, I am soft in every possible way. They found me wandering around Calumet City. Just out there. Alone. I am a tiny girl and the world is big. Bigger when you cannot see it very well. We think I am blind. Or close to it. What I know for sure is that I navigate with my heart. The shelter was not the place for a girl like me. Too loud. Too fast. Too much. The rescue stepped in because no one wanted me trying to survive like that. I am not a high-maintenance diva. I am a calm, docile, snuggly little lady. I move slowly. I listen carefully. I memorize the shape of a room. Once I learn it, I am good. I will toddle around like I own the place. What I really want is a person. Someone patient. Someone steady. Someone kind. Someone who does not mind being my eyes. I will follow your voice. I will lean into your legs. I will curl into you like I have known you forever. I am the kind of dog who bonds deep. Not flashy. Not chaotic. Just loyal. Devoted. Yours. If your home is quiet and your heart is open, I think we might fit together perfectly. I am probably fine with dogs, cats and kids, but since I want a quiet home, I am going to try to be your solo love bug for now. Is that okay? Come be my world. I promise I will make you mine. Salty is a sweet, compact little guy with a big heart and an even bigger love for people. Around 2 years old and about 20 pounds, Salty came into animal control with his buddy Riff Raff, and the two have been thriving in foster care ever since. We believe Salty may be a French Bulldog/Pug mix - he’s playful, social, and happiest when he’s close to his humans. He enjoys romping around with other dogs, soaking up attention, and being part of whatever you’re doing. Salty is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, fully covered by Dogs 4 U Rescue through our vet partner in Naperville. Because of this, adopters must be local to ensure he can complete his treatment schedule. Around 2 years old and about 20 pounds, Riff Raff arrived at animal control with his best pal Salty, and they’ve been an adorable pair ever since. Thought to be a French Bulldog/Pug mix, Riff Raff has the perfect combo of goofy charm and loyal sweetness. He loves other dogs, adores people, and thrives when he can be close to his person - whether that’s on the couch or following you from room to room. Riff Raff is currently being treated for heartworm, with all medical care provided by the rescue through our Naperville vet. To stay on track with treatment, adopters must be local until he is fully cleared. Talk about a rough life. This girl was dealt a terrible hand and used for breeding, and then disposed of. Her emaciated body shows exhaustion and plain defeat, but through that she has also shown that she is willing to trust and forgive. Studio is the definition of determination and she is trying so hard to be brave. This sweet girl would love a home with a small family to spend her time with. She is crate trained, seems to be okay and respectful of cats, but is not a fan of dogs. She is taller than a short English bulldog, but still built like an English. She is gentle, walks on a leash, and deserves a chance.

Jersey girl is a short stout with an outgoing personality. She is so funny. Loves kids and every person she meets. Needing a home with no dogs, she still is involved with pack walks and leash skill classes. Maintaining a good citizen, we believe she has had past trama so extended play with dogs gets her stressed and that is why we have required no dog home. Sadly that is why she sits in our facility so long. We really would love to see this amazing girl get the family she deserves.
